Peaceful retreat

5 of 5
The house is a very comfortable and relaxing retreat on top of a mountain. The kitchen, dining room and master bedroom have spectacular views of the valley below with gorgeous sunsets. We loved the hot tub, which sits on the master bedroom deck with the gorgeous view. The house is cozy, clean and stocked with everything one needs - cooking utensils, spices, staples. We did not explore the restaurants/stores as we chose to cook in simple meals and spend our time exploring the George Washington National Forest on hikes. The only improvement we'd suggest is a later check out time. Leaving before 10AM is a bit early for us on vacation. The owner sent detailed driving directions and suggestions and was very responsive and easy to reach.

Lovely location + Terrific Owner

5 of 5
This house is as good as it looks. Just spent a week there with family ranging from 2.5 - 84 years old and the many porches (screened and unscreened), the large tables (inside and out) and the numerous bathrooms made it easy for all of us to enjoy our time together without bumping into each other constantly. The house was clean, prepped well and just as described. The owner was warm, helpful, friendly and just plain pleasant throughout the whole process. I changed dates, had multiple contacts and questions, yet she was a delight through it all. She also refunded my security deposit promptly at the end, which I appreciate. I'd give this more than five stars if I could. If you want family time in the country, look at this spot.

Unforgettable getaway

5 of 5
The quiet and cozy Lost River Cabin was the perfect setting to rest, recuperate, and reconnect with my husband. The cabin is outfitted with everything you could possibly need, and truly felt like a home away from home. Fun adventures included hiking at Lost River State Park, a visit to Smokehole Taverns, and dinner at the Guest House where we were treated like a King and Queen. We would recommend this cabin to anyone needing a break from it all. We can't wait to go back!
