Top Spot, Comfortable and Charming

5 of 5
Brought my spouse here for a short weekend getaway with mixed expectations. The house was incredibly located with parking which is hard to come by in HF. Great view off the porch, WiFi, Netflix, Cable, a pond on the side with a lit gazebo, and the list is endless. Pieces of Gary's history all over the cottage made it super interested and gave the place charm. He left us wood for the wood-stove as well as fresh towels, sheets, and shampoos. This is an incredible spot if you're lucky enough to get a booking. Close enough to the VA wine trail, located right on the Appalachian Trail, and history scattered throughout the area. We will be back again as we had the most relaxing time. Thanks Gary!

Very Charming

5 of 5
This is a highly charming cottage in the woods. It is full of pretty wooden detail and nice furnishings/ decor inside, including a central wood fireplace set on brick tiles. There are little lamps and candles all around for a really cozy feel. Large windows reveal the woods, adding to the mountain charm. The pictures do not quite capture how cute it is. It is also fully stocked in the kitchen and bathrooms. Bobby was a very good host.

Charming and cozy - a perfect Christmas

5 of 5
Moonridge Cottage was even more than I had hoped for. My boyfriend and I wanted to do something special to celebrate our Christmas, and thought an out-of-the-way (but convenient) cabin in the woods would be perfect. And it was. I was delighted with the special care that Bobby took to make the cabin cozy and festive. Upon our arrival, the wood stove was burning, the tree decorated, and wine waiting on the table. Fresh bread was served to complete the homey atmosphere. Bobby could not have been more accomodating with our early arrival and late departure. Our stay was wonderful, and will return in the spring to enjoy the next phase of mother nature.
