This is a special place for our family. This is where we took our very first family vacation shortly after our daughter was born in 2011, we’ve returned many times since, and it’s easily our daughter’s favorite vacation destination. We’ve taken our daughter to Hawaii, Cozumel, and Disneyland, but she’s always said that she’d rather go to the “beach house.” Our golden retriever Max agrees with her.
The best part of this property is its location. It’s located on an infrequently-traversed beach, with a gorgeous, straight-shot view of Mt. Baker. Our daughter loves to search for shells and dig around on the beach, and our golden retriever loves to swim in front of the property. From the property, we’ve seen orcas, dolphins, bald eagles, seahawks (ospreys), deer, huge herons, and pretty much every type of wildlife you’d expect to see in the Pacific Northwest besides bears and Sasquatches. The property is also just a short drive to Coupeville, the Whidbey Island Hospital (if there ever were an emergency), Fort Casey, the ferry to Port Townsend, the dog park at Patmore Pit, strawberry picking at local farms, and Greenbank Farms.
The house itself is comfortable and stocked with pretty much everything you’d need. It has a nice plasma television, expanded cable, and high-speed internet with good range. During most of our trips to this home, I’ve actually worked during the day from the property. I just set up my laptop outside on the water-side porch, or inside next to one of the windows facing the water, and I get the benefit of the gorgeous view even when I’m working. The beds are comfortable to us, and because the house has eastern exposure, the house stays cool and the rooms get relatively dark during those long summer days in the Pacific Northwest.
Finally, the neighbors are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the owner’s property manager (Janet) is awesome and a pleasure to work with. We can't wait to return.
