Peace of the River (Kalama River

5 of 5
Donna, My expectations were exceeded. Your home on the Kalama was perfect and better than pictured or described. Downstairs rooms were as awesome as upstairs. Your directions & communication get high marks from this old engineer. For anyone who loves nature and wishes to relax in a classical, on the river setting, in the Pacific Northwest, this is the place. Quick & easy access to "civilization" in Longview or shopping in Portland / Seattle if wanted. For me it was exploring & hunting Steelhead watching Salmon in the early morning and late afternoon during the day. In between it was tying flies, resting and then sleeping on the couch with the the doors open and screens closed listing to a river I love. As the Terminator say's-------- "I'll be back" Thank you Donna. Do not normalize the deviance i.e. appreciate the beauty you have in this location and never take it for granted. Fortunately, the Kalama has not greatly changed that much over the years.

Perfect central location for active family

5 of 5
For our second stay in this house, we were travelling with two adults, two teenagers and a dog. The open floor plan of the house felt spacious enough for all, and the three bedrooms and two baths insured that no one felt cramped. The location is perfect for our family. The walk to the beach is quick and easy, as well as board walk and Centennial Trail. While my husband and I relaxed and enjoyed the local happy hours, the teens were able to keep quite busy. Also in walking distance...shops and restaurants, the arcade, movie theater, go carts, and the putt putt golf right next door. Upon arrival, the house was clean and ready for us. The kitchen houses enough utensils to cook for a family. The bathrooms were stocked, towels clean, and extras easy to find. Our family will more than likely book this house again in the future! The owner is very friendly, and easy to work with.

Big spacious condo

4 of 5
Really nice condo complex by the ocean, everything was close, we enjoyed biking to town on the dunes trail, toured the lighthouse, spent lots of time on the beach. My son was really happy to have his own bathroom! I was disappointed in the cleanliness of the unit and the supplies, though. There was a half roll of TP in the guest bathroom and none in the master bath, luckily we brought our own with us. No paper towels, either. Also, the previous tenants did not run the dishwasher, and even though the clean light was on, everything was dirty, and my 10 year old son grabbed a juice glass before I realized it was dirty, so I spent some time worrying that he could have contracted some type of illness. This could easily have been rectified by thorough maid service, as there were also dirty linens in the clothes washer. After these two discoveries, I was a little uneasy about the cleanliness of the whole unit. The coat closet door was off of its hinge, so that when you opened the door, the whole door came off. Consequently, my husband spent some time re-aligning and fixing the door. The master bath jetted tub was very nice, also, but again, cleanliness issues. When the jets were on, some type of rotted debris came through the vents, and we all had to shower off after sitting in the tub. The TV in the living room was very nice, but we were unable to get the dvd player to work (there was no sound) and so were unable to watch two rented videos. A basic manual for the entertainment system would have been appreciated. All of these things aside, it was a very nice unit, and the personnel in the complex were also very kind. Our stay wasn't long enough for us to enjoy the many amenities of the complex: there was a very nice swimming pool, hot tub, and exercise room adjacent to the pool area. The balcony with the BBQ was really neat as well, providing a beautiful view of the ocean.
