College reunion @ Hummingbird Hill Lodge

5 of 5
Spent a weekend catching up with old college friends at the Hummingbird Hill cabin in October and had an amazing time. There were 7 of us and we got there late on a Friday night weary from a long day of traveling. The second we stepped inside the cabin everyone's spirit was lifted because we were absolutely blown away by how amazing the interior was. Plenty of beds of all sizes, HUGE TV in the den, endless amount of DVDs, Blu-Rays, even HD-DVDs, spacious kitchen, the whole works. Oh yeah, there's also a hot tub! There's all kinds of seating around the deck which encircles the whole cabin, perfect for late night conversations about the great times in school, or for grabbing a cup of coffee in the morning to soak up the view. Speaking of, the view from the cabin in the morning is breathtaking. There's plenty of areas to go hiking nearby (~15mins), and Jim, the owner, was very kind in providing me with lots of information on activities. We saw some interesting wildlife during our stay including quail, a hawk or falcon perched on a nearby tree, and of course hummingbirds. Overall the stay was absolutely enjoyable and we were want for nothing. The kitchen came stocked with a lot of basics (coffee, filters, sugar, condiments, butter, incl. a massive amount of different hot sauces), and even some more substantial ingredients. Highly recommend the cabin to any type of group and would love to come back in the future. Thanks so much Jim for an amazing stay!

Fabulous Setting with lots of extras

4 of 5
A great house with lots of room and beautiful settings on the back sun deck and the front porch and the grounds are a beautiful place for a walk and a great hostess. Jenny made us feel like we were her personal guests. I highly recommend especially for those who want to see some great wineries and a must see is the Krueger Pepper Farm and Ginkgo Petrified Forest, and Cowiche Canyon. And we will always remember Tuxedo and we miss him.. Thank you Jenny and Julia

Perfect for anniversary getaway!

5 of 5
We were visiting family in WA and decided to take some time for our anniversary. The owners were very gracious and helpful in setting up the booking. We were happily surprised at how big and beautiful the property is. The house is immaculately clean with everything one could wish for to be as comfortable as at home. We loved having a full, completely appointed kitchen and a grill on the back deck. Loved the rocking chairs on the front porch too! The Blacktail property was the perfect jumping off place for our day trips, the first day to Cedar Flats to see the enormous trees and fishing on the Muddy River. The second day we drove to Johnston Ridge, a long drive but there is a great visitor center there. It was so wonderful to come back to a comfortable home, relax and enjoy the silence, the privacy. Beautiful views from higher points in the neighborhood, and the entire reservoir area is stunning. Highly recommend staying here and we probably will be back! Thank you so much Vickie and Gary!
