Very nice cottage

4 of 5
Overall very pleased with this cottage. It is conveniently located close to the entrance to Mt. Rainier NP and very close to the main part of town. The cabin was clean except for a few small spiders in the bathroom corners. The hot tub was nice, once my husband figured out how to raise the temp over 89 degrees (some instructions would be helpful). The fire pit was terrific. Beautiful to sit outside under the stars in the evening. It was also nice having a TV to watch some of the World Cup games. And our Sprint cell phones actually worked! The wireless internet worked great too. Our first evening we were greeted by 4 Elk which were grazing on the driveway. There was plenty of room in the cottage. Although there were a lot of beds, there is only 1 bathroom. Keep that in mind if you are traveling with lots of kids. I appreciated the Air Conditioner because it was quite warm the day we arrived. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and equipment which were in good condition, but I would have appreciated a few more of those incidentals which are impractical to buy - such as paper towels, spray cleaner, condiments, tea bags etc. There were charcoal briquettes for the grill but there was no lighter fluid. I would definitely recommend this cottage. The owner was very easy to work with via email. Mt. Rainier NP is awesome and the drive from Packwood is lovely. Packwood is tiny. There isn't a whole lot there. Restaurant food is mostly limited to burgers and pizza and the supermarket is small with limited choices. The Butter Butte coffee shop was very nice though.

Lovely Home with Incredible Views

5 of 5
This property was spotless and exactly as represented on the web site listing. The views from the home are incredible. The rental process was very simple and the owners were wonderful to work with. This is one of the nicest homes we have ever rented. We highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a well appointed, family friendly home in the Hood River/White Salmon area.

Great getaway

4 of 5
Like another reviewer stated, this is a perfect location for meeting up halfway between Seattle and Portland. The house is a good size with lots of outdoor entertaining space. The marina will rent kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, paddle boats, and pontoon boats. They charge a nominal "resort fee" if you are not staying there. The marina also has a great playground for small children and a restaurant that is open limited days/hours. There is a small store there as well, but for more selection, there is a grocery store in Mossyrock, a 10 minute drive. I would recommend bringing some newspaper and kindling if you plan on using the fire pit. There is ample wood for nightly fires. Overall, the house was clean, well stocked, the owner was easy to contact, and the location is great. I would definitely recommend this home and we will likely rent here again.
