Priorities Met!!

4 of 5
When deciding on a Seattle rental, the most important thing on my checklist was to find a home that allowed for opportunities to walk around a safe neighborhood, as well as be within walking distance to local shops and restaurants. This rental met this priority with flying colors! When time allowed, our party of 4 enjoyed our relaxing strolls through the neighborhood and taking in the beautiful landscapes of individual homes. (Not to mention the water view) In the mornings we often walked into the village for breakfast or for coffee. The home is also relatively close to the major Seattle sites. As a yearly visitor to Seattle, I have begun using the "Uber" app (similar to a taxi service but much better and cheaper) to get me to all those sites without the hassle of parking fees and traffic. I highly recommend it! I used it numerous times while visiting. It is also worth noting that any of my questions in regards to the rental were answered in a timely manner and handled professionally. The highest recommendation I could give is to say that I would return, and that is just what I plan on doing for 2015!

Hate to Leave!

5 of 5
Our group, all gals, visits San Juan Island every opportunity and always try different homes as we are prefer not to stay in hotel or B & B. We like to cook so needed a good kitchen which this house has. We Hiked on various well marked trails and arrived home to a private massage that Susan had set up for us. What a treat. We were extremely comfy, home is very well maintained and immaculate. We started each morning with either Espresso or Cappuccino (machine available) and homemade Italian Biscotti from Susan's Kitchen or should I say Cucina? What a marvelous way to start the day. We truly hated to leave, but we all agree, we will return soon and definitely try out the Private Italian Suppers and Cooking Classes.

Great location

4 of 5
My family stayed here for five nights and found it to be a great location to walk to everything we wanted to do (ferries, Space Needle, museums, etc). It is just down Post Alley from Pike's Place Market, that has some great places to eat. However, we found that there was a downside to being this close to everything. The building was very quiet, but there was a lot of exterior noise all night long (people, trucks, sirens, etc). The weather was uncharacteristically warm all night (low-mid 80's). We couldn't leave the window up due to the noise, so we needed to run the A/C unit all night. The A/C unit was loud, but a preference over the exterior noise. The unit has the convenience of a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. It has a queen bed which needs to be updated due to the amount it squeaked and family members had to alternate on who slept on the somewhat uncomfortable fold out/click clack bed. As stated in the May 2014 review, there was still a broken drinking glass on the kitchen shelf and the shower door leaked enough to where it puddled on the floor and soaked the floor mat. The staff had a door seal installed down the length of the door during our stay, but didn't put one in the gap along the bottom. The ad had stated there was an indoor pool and we found that there wasn't one. Kids were bummed. James with Alfred's realized the error in the ad and credited us the first night stay. Overall, we recommend this location to stay due the conveniences the unit has, the great location to walk to everything, and the very helpful staff.
