Great stay at the Lily Pad!

4 of 5
Loved our 3+ week stay at the Lily Pad! The grounds/gardens leading up to the house and surrounding it are beautiful. And definitely help give it a secluded feel. The view- WOW. There are no words. Just couldn't ask for a better location- both for the perfect view and for the perfect central location on the island. 20 minutes from the ferry, 45 minutes to Deception Pass in the north. The hot tub is clean, new and perfectly situated on the deck overlooking Puget Sound. The house itself was also lovely. Very clean, very good use of space, very comfortable. Because I'm always leery of reviews that don't include the negatives...Our biggest gripe was the lack of adequate hot water. It was impossible to take a nice bath or even an average length shower without running out of hot water. After a week, we asked the management if we could please locate the hot water heater and increase it to see if would help, but they told us no and suggested 'shorter bathing sessions or at least better timed.' Um, no. Difficult when a house has 3 adults and a child for nearly a month. Other constructive criticism: Two of the three bedrooms have pull out sofas, not beds. Not the comfiest for extended stays. None of the three bedrooms have room darkening shades or curtains, so it's as bright as day as soon as the sun comes up each morning. Not ideal for restful weekends or small children. All bedrooms open to the outside- just something to note if traveling with children. Many of the furnishings are worn and dated- for example, the sofa looks white at first glance, but at closer inspection, it was blue pin striped at one time. The kitchen has very limited cookware (plenty of serveware)- not a big deal for shorter trips, but for lengthy visits where you're cooking often, it's a challenge not to have a skillet over 6". That being said, all in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Lily Pad and found it the perfect setting for our time on Whidbey Island. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend or return. Just wish a few improvements could be made.

Wonderful experience

5 of 5
This was our first experience with StayAlfred and it was definitely a pleasant one. Being timeshare owners, we always try to look for full apartment units for our vacation stays if we can't find a timeshare where we're traveling. I was so pleased to find this unit in Bellevue, WA, just a block away from our daughter, son-in-law and grandson's apartment. The unit was in a secure building (a plus), very clean and fully furnished with a well stocked kitchen (no, not with food!). Bellevue is a great area - a 20 minute drive northeast of Seattle. Very walkable, lots of restaurants, coffee shops, fitness centers (one of which is right in the building we stayed in) and shopping. I highly recommend this location of StayAlfred. The booking process is easy and all instructions are exact. Also, price point is excellent. Would definitely book another stay with StayAlfred.

Soaring Eagle

5 of 5
We had very high expectations about the lodge based on all of the previous reviews and I have to say all of the positive reviews were right on. The house is exceptional in every detail. Outstanding and quite location, highest quality furnishings, 3 awesome gas fired wood fireplaces, fantastic outdoor hot tub, chef's quality kitchen, water views and two eagles !! The home was clean and very well maintained. We spent two nights here with our son and his fiancé and then two more nights at the Fairmont Olympia in Seattle and honestly, I enjoyed the Soaring Eagle so much more! Mary was easy to work with and we only saw the onsite caretaker when we first arrived and when we left. The first night we picked up steaks in Oak Harbor and cooked out on the patio. Day two, we took the ferry over to Port Townsend where there are many fun places to eat and drink. We did not spend much time in Oak Harbor. The lodge is perfect for family gatherings and I wouldn't hesitate to visit again. Thank you Mary, Tim M
