Perfect in every way

5 of 5
I hesitated to write this review because we didn't want the secret to get out about Clam Cove. I guess the spirit of the season has overwhelmed me so here goes: Clam Cove is the perfect getaway for people looking for a relaxed and/or romantic retreat. One of the elements we appreciate most is that unlike other vacation rentals, it is decorated in a clean, crisp style that puts you at ease immediately upon entering. The pictures don't lie. No dusty silk flowers or other cottagey décor that you have to hide away. Everything is bright and clean including the bathroom and kitchen which are totally modern and updated. Although Vashon has some fun restaurants, it is nice to be able to stay in and cook. The kitchen is perfectly equipped to actually cook a meal and eat as you would at home. There are always kitchen basics like olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper and basic spices which testify to the fact that guests who stay at Clam Cove truly appreciate the kitchen amenities. In the winter or on cool nights, the wood burning stove heats the place perfectly. As you cozy up for a night in, there are ample DVDs to choose from and Super Nintendo with all your favorite old games. But really, the reason to stay at Clam Cove is the beach location. Grab a seat on the deck or inside and watch the tide come in. From inside it feels like you are in a houseboat which is absolutely delightful. Outside, sit on the deck or by the fire pit and watch the ferry go by. When the tide is down take a walk on the beach, watch the sea life or do whatever it is you like to do. The point is that whether the tide is in or out the view and beach at Clam Cove is amazing. And finally, let's talk about Lance. Some B&B/vacation rental operators are bit quirky. Lance is totally reasonable and very accommodating. We have been allowed to arrive early and leave late without any hassle or extra charge as long as no one else had reserved the place. Of course, we like to return the favor by making sure we leave Clam Cove in the same impeccably clean state in which we found it: towels and sheets in the wash, kitchen cleaned up, etc. I am probably going to regret writing this review as I see the availability calendar fill up but ultimately both Lance and Clam Cove deserve a 5 star rating. Enjoy your stay.

Serenity and Privacy on Puget Sound

5 of 5
Let me start by saying that my husband and I are very picky about two things: privacy and comfortable bedding. Olympic View surpassed our expectations on both of these items. Dave and Eileen were laid back but very attentive to our needs. Our flight arrived late from the east coast and we became miserably lost trying to get to the cottage (our issue, not theirs--we are notorious for getting lost). Dave was amazingly patient and talked us all the way 'home', staying on the phone until we started up the drive. The town of Burien is very convenient to Seattle. The beach is a short walk away from the cottage and the views are outstanding! This location also afforded us an opportunity to explore the mountains, Rainier, the ocean, and it was all within a convenient drive. We even did the Twin Peaks nostalgia tour, visiting Snoqualmie and North Bend. The cottage was just the right size for the two of us and was comfortably furnished. Without question, we would highly recommend this cottage for comfort and convenience. Thank you Dave and Eileen, for a memorable stay on our first explorations into the Pacific Northwest! We will be back.

Peaceful Hideaway

5 of 5
My husband and I stayed at Three Tree Point for a little R&R. The perfectly clean bed and breakfast was tastefully decorated and had a very comfortable king bed. The gas fireplace was welcome in the chilly evenings. It is very quiet, has a beautiful view of the puget sound, and is an easy and quick drive into Seattle. Penny was delightful and helpful. We will stay here again!
