Great Relaxing Place

5 of 5
Slept like a baby here. The Clubhouse is a super place to stay and unwind whether you are going to stay a night or a month. It is quiet, comfortable and homey but not far from interesting things to do and see in any direction, such as a half dozen craft breweries, interesting and excellent places to eat, wineries, museums from tribal to modern naval, walks in the woods, bicycling - mountain or road, the Olympic Peninsula, etc. Your hosts, Terry and Leo have much to offer for ideas. And if yu want to meet an exceptional canine, their dog Jed is it. I highly recommend the Clubhouse for anyone, especially if you need a place to relax from sightseeing or business. Enjoy, Tom Anderson

Great introduction to the Puget Sound area

5 of 5
I’ve been waiting to get my family to the Puget Sound area for the last 20+ years. I was stationed briefly at NAS Whidbey Island back in the 80s and I fell in love with the area. We picked Sandy’s house as our base of operations and it was a perfect start to our vacation. The only regret was that I did not allow for more time just relaxing at the house! This is a stunning home with a gorgeous vista. We stayed a full week. The first time we opened the front door and looked through the back of the house to Hood canal and Mt Olympus in the distance was unforgettable. The house is laid out nicely and is tastefully decorated. It’s understated and a bit sparse but matches the house perfectly. The eight of us (2 - 17 year-old, 1 – 13 year-old, 1 – 10 year-old, grandma & grandpa, plus mom & dad) had more than enough room and privacy. The only issue we had, and it was minor, was that we had to space out the showers, laundry and dish washing because of the septic system. My family had no issues working with that limitation but it’s something to be aware of if you have a large group. This is a great house and it exceeded my expectations. Last note: 2nd morning drinking coffee on the back patio, a bald eagle flew into a tree right in front of me. 4th morning, drinking coffee on the back porch, a river otter came bounding across the back yard, not 20 feet from me. Couple that with the porpoises we saw swimming in the canal and it was magnificent.
