Perfect Location for Exploring PNW

5 of 5
My husband and I spent a week in this cute little house in Port Angeles. It was very roomy and clean and was full of beautiful european-like updates. The view out the back windows looked upon the Port Angeles Harbor and took advantage of colorful sunsets. Since my husband is an photographer we spent the week exploring the Ho Rain Forest, Cape Flattery and Neah Bay, Sequim, and nearby parks. The sun was bright and shiny everyday of our trip (unusual for Winter in the PNW) but crispy cold. We got some beautiful photos from this trip. Please feel totally confident that you will find everything you need in staying at Patricia's cute home.

WHAT A PLACE!!! So close to everything

5 of 5
We walked into the house and was so surprised on how well it was setup. I recommend if you rent this place just bring your meals to cook! They have done such a great job with making sure you have no worries. 45min to Sol Duc or Hoh, Took us less than 2 hours to get to Cape Flattery. We will be back. Cant wait for some Winter stays!

Cozy Gateway Cottage...like coming home...

5 of 5
I visited the Gateway Cottage this past June, 2013 and was overwhelmed by the beautiful nature surrounding this charming home. The drive along Hood Canal was breathtaking, the air clean, pure and pine scented. The Gateway Cottage is nestled in amongst a covey of homes framing an 18 hole golf course. It is exactly what one would hope to experience in the Pacific Northwest. Pine trees, deer and nature trails. Gateway Cottage was like coming home. The interior is amazingly decorated in retro-70's. I don't know how the owners did it, but not one single detail was overlooked when decorating this lodge. It was so charming and I became quite nostalgic with happy memories flooding back. Items such as an original Mr. Coffee Maker mounted under the kitchen cabinets, a JennAire toaster oven built in to the wall, retro-colored appliances, a giant wooden fork and spoon hanging in the living room, a vintage electric organ. Even the dishware was vintage! I loved it. In spite of the cozy retro feel, the lodge boasts many modern comforts. A walk-in closet and en suite bathroom in the master bedroom. A king sized bed as well. The second guest room has a queen sized bed and a bathroom just outside the room. The refrigerator has an ice maker and the porch has comfortable seating and a place to enjoy dining outdoors or simply relaxing with a cold drink. There are many places to visit while using Gateway Cottage as a base. The canal offers countless water activities, plus there are endless hiking trails all throughout the Olimpic Rain Forest. I went to the nearby lake and rented a kayak for the day. It was only 10 minutes away. In addition, there are many opportunities to buy fresh from the bay seafood. I hope to make a return visit to the Gateway Cottage someday and I hope it is exactly like I left it....home away from home!
