November at the Olympic Cottage

5 of 5
The cottage was a great place to stay. It was very clean and well-maintained. The kitchen was well equipped and I even cooked Thanksgiving dinner for our son's family who came from Mercer Island for the day. Paula was a delight to deal with and Mary was quite helpful getting us settled in. we enjoyed the deer on the golf course, watching the occasional golfer, walking around the neighbor and hiking on the dike. We also went to Port Angeles, Port Townsend, and Silverdale, Hurricane Ridge, the beach at Dungeness Spit, the Railroad Bridge and Audubon Society, The Wild Game Reserve and John Wayne Marina. And, we bought a house! We ate at several Mexican Restaurants, the Black Bear, the John Wayne Marina, the Dockside Grill in PA, the restaurant at Lake Crescent, 101 Diner, The Oak Table, The Mariner, and one I've forgotten, plus shopped for organic groceries at Sunny Farms. The weather was sunny most of the time but we did have a beautiful surprise snow and the cottage setting was perfect. I would recommend this vacation rental to anyone who wants to spend a fun filled month in Sequim. It's a great place for a golfer, too.

Just lovely

5 of 5
Beautifully appointed, very clean, and what a beautiful garden! The owner greeted us on arrival and explained everything we'd need to know. The house accommodated our group of 3 wonderfully well. We cooked most meals in and found everything we needed. The location was really convenient to Olympic National Park and to Port Angeles...just minutes from everything. The garden is just lovely, a fine place to sit and relax and soak in the beautiful scenery...Strait of Juan de Fuca on one side and mountains on the other. The nice quiet neighborhood was just our speed, a nice place to take a walk after dinner. I also enjoyed watching the lights on Vancouver Island at night. Magical.

Lovely amenities in a lovely location

4 of 5
The house is great, and the location couldn't be better. It was easy to work with the owners, and while you're never really sure how well stocked the kitchen will be in these kinds of places, this one was quite nice, and even had decent pans and knives! The only downside to mention is that it wasn't clear (to us) that the "rec room" should probably be more accurately called "the garage", and of the 4 queen beds, one is in there. As that's where the bikes are also stored, there is a bit of a musty odor in that room. And another queen bed is in the downstairs living room which connects most bedrooms to the house - not a private place at all. But if you don't need those beds or don't care about those things, then there are no downsides for you. :)
