Beautiful Getaway

5 of 5
I booked the lodge for a family getaway - 6 adults and a small dog. This is a great house to make into home for a few days! There are enough kitchen supplies to make anyone who loves to cook happy. We enjoyed family meals around the dining table and on the outdoor deck. There are a few small things that need to be fixed but nothing major that makes you not enjoy staying here. It was fun to walk down to the river and experience the peace of sitting in a chair overlooking the river and mountains with my morning coffee. My husband and brother-in-law would definitely love to come back earlier in the spring/summer for some salmon fishing and floating down the river looks fun too. We did see a few trout in the water but weren't there long enough to explore fishing options. Safeway for groceries and all the shopping and dining in downtown Leavenworth are very close. If the weather wasn't so hot and you wanted a long walk you could walk to town. We enjoyed a couple games of ping pong too as well as just relaxing in the two "living rooms" or outside on the decks. Great place! We'll definitely book again when we have a chance to return to Leavenworth for a few days or a week, in any season, since there is so much to do around Leavenworth or just relax at the house.

Great Spring Break Getaway...

5 of 5
We wanted to get away…river, possible fishing, and hiking and then to be able to relax in a hot tub…and then we found the cabin by the river. Rita was quick to respond to all of my questions and then helped me book it very quickly. It was so easy to get to; we were there before we knew it. Bridal Veil Falls and the Lake Serene trail head is literally just down the road...the hike was great!! We could not have had better weather while we were there. The hot tub was welcomed after the long hike…and to sit and hear the roar of the river while relaxing was perfect. A river otter visited us the last night we were there enjoying the camp fire alongside the river. The views from the deck were spectacular and we had a fantastic stay! Everything we needed was already there! Rita, thanks again for everything…we look forward to our next trip up.

A Fantastic Stay for a Ski Trip

5 of 5
The Eagle's Nest was a FANTASTIC cabin to accommodate our two families with teens for a long ski weekend in late February. Once we arrived after a long flight from Chicago we did not want to leave. The home is beautifully appointed, the fireplace was lit, the bathrooms and bedrooms are luxurious. Even the teens loved climbing the wall to the loft bedroom and would stare out the windows at the view. Best of all, though was the view out back. The rushing Skykomish River instantly makes you feel relaxed and on a special vacation. We were 30 minutes away from Steven's Pass and had 2 awesome days of skiing. If you are skiing Stevens Pass, make sure you rent an AWD vehicle. When we were there WDOT was restricting passage on US 2 to cars with snow chains and AWD vehicles though we experienced some extraordinary snow. After a day of skiing, we'd hit the hot tub, listen to the river, watch the stars and wished for time to stand still. During the day you could literally just enjoy the backyard for hours. The mountain views are just beautiful. The property features lots of outdoor seating (it was cold, though in February), a beautiful fire-pit and an outdoor kitchen. We can only imagine how great it would be to be there in warmer weather. We saw bald eagles in flight and perched in the trees. If you go, stop in Gold Bar, 10 miles west of Index, for groceries BEFORE you get there. You would also like Ricco's "bake at home pizza place" just east of the grocery store. Like I said, once you get there you won't want to leave. Chris was an attentive owner and responded to our questions right away. The home was a perfect location for what we wanted to do. We could visit friends in Everett in 45 minutes and headed to Seattle for sight-seeing when we weren't skiing. A wonderful, memorable home and vacation.
