Quiet and peaceful get-away

5 of 5
While perhaps not as isolated as it appears in the picture this property provides you with a quiet and comfortable place to relax and enjoy a few days completely off the grid away from the hassles of our busy lives. With all the comforts of home at your fingertips, including a well equipped kitchen, laundry and even a hot tub you can do as little or as much as you want. While the beds were a little soft and the living room lighting a little dime for my aging self I certainly cannot complain about the wonderful time we had.

Solstice Wedding SUCCESS!

5 of 5
Since getting married at Skalitude on Summer Solstice this year, we are still amazed at how amazing a setting and opportunity was provided to us by the hosts. They went completely out of their way to ensure a successful event for everyone involved and worked directly and tirelessly with and for us. Since this beautiful place was thankfully untouched by the Carlton-Complex Fire, we will be able to come back here for years to come- which we plan on doing! There is really no other place with the buzzing sense of serenity, stewardship, beauty, and inclusiveness that we have experienced every time we've visited, and are so thankful we found Skalitude to exchange our vows. We stayed at Skalitude a few times prior to the wedding to get a general feel for how the big event should go, and every visit marveled at the cleanliness and upkeep of the amenities and the surrounding natural beauty, of which pictures could never do justice. The lodge is the hub of the property with cooking and showering for decent-sized groups, with additional opportunities to relax in the nearby wood-fired sauna and recently built Bermhouse (with the cleanest composting toilets we've ever experienced)! The nearby opportunities for adventure are incredible at all times of year, but the crux of the experience would be staying within and experiencing the Skalitude Valley and it's panorama of intensely beautiful hillslopes blanketed with either warmth & wildflowers, snow, dramatic fall colors, or vivid greens of new plant growth in the spring. The Methow and various towns contained within are worth visiting too, just don't take the time and spiritual replenishment granted by all aspects of Skalitude for granted!

Beautiful Getaway

5 of 5
I booked the lodge for a family getaway - 6 adults and a small dog. This is a great house to make into home for a few days! There are enough kitchen supplies to make anyone who loves to cook happy. We enjoyed family meals around the dining table and on the outdoor deck. There are a few small things that need to be fixed but nothing major that makes you not enjoy staying here. It was fun to walk down to the river and experience the peace of sitting in a chair overlooking the river and mountains with my morning coffee. My husband and brother-in-law would definitely love to come back earlier in the spring/summer for some salmon fishing and floating down the river looks fun too. We did see a few trout in the water but weren't there long enough to explore fishing options. Safeway for groceries and all the shopping and dining in downtown Leavenworth are very close. If the weather wasn't so hot and you wanted a long walk you could walk to town. We enjoyed a couple games of ping pong too as well as just relaxing in the two "living rooms" or outside on the decks. Great place! We'll definitely book again when we have a chance to return to Leavenworth for a few days or a week, in any season, since there is so much to do around Leavenworth or just relax at the house.
