Adequate and Convenient

4 of 5
The property is well located two blocks from the Navy Yard Metro Station in a mixed residential / commercial area. The apartment is well suited for a couple (two people that don't mind sleeping together as there is only one bed) and was minimally equipped with everything needed including for preparation of simple meals. Grocery shopping was a short metro ride away at the Waterfront Station. The facilities in the apartment building were good and the staff was friendly and helpful. We did not meet Jayne the owner, however her representatives were friendly, punctual and minimally involved with our stay. We enjoyed our stay and felt comfortable in the apartment. We felt that basic cleanliness standards were met, however, the apartment was not super clean or well organized if that is what you are looking for. We would recommend to our friends visiting Washington DC.

Much, much more than a 'hotel alternative'

5 of 5
We so very much enjoyed our stay here. The owner is wonderful to work with - makes sure that everything goes smoothly and that you are all set. This studio is immaculately clean, and has several little touches that we really appreciated, such as a spices and condiments (who wants to buy those on vacation?) and a nice BIG coffee maker. The location is GREAT - about a 10-15 minute walk (we're slower and older) to the Mall, shorter distance to two Metro stations, and as mentioned, the Safeway (and CVS) down the street are VERY handy. It saved us a ton to be able to eat in most of the time. We also had a great meal at Station 4, also just down the street. And as mentioned in previous reviews, between the quiet and the EXTREMELY comfortable bed, we slept like babies!! The only negatives are incredibly minor - yes, the a/c can be loud, but not a big deal. Otherwise - can't wait to come here again! I didn't want to let the secret out :), but such an attentive owner as this deserves the accolades!

Stunning!

Views from windows had changed a little due to construction but home still everything we expected and more. The kitchen was well equipped and the property was immaculate. We were close to all the things we enjoy in DC. We ate at Sweet Greens, Chopped, Carmines, Tony Cheng's and Del Frisco's in between visits to monuments, museums and family. I would highly recommend this property to friends and family. I hope it will be available on our next visit. Gwen was a delightful host.
