A jewel historic house in an ideal location

4 of 5
My wife and I stayed here for a week, while visiting our daughter who lives with her family in an apartement in Georgetown. We loved Casey's house from the very start. The apartment covers the ground floor of a historical house, around the corner of GW University, Foggy Bottom Metro station, and great shops such as WHOLE FOODS and TRADER's JOE. Walking distance to THE MALL, the Museums and the White House. The house includes, besides the bedroom and bathroom, two fair size rooms: the sitting room, with facilities like cable TV and fast Wifi; and a dining room / kitchen, with dining area and cooking area, fridge, microwave, coffee machine, etc. The big unexpected PLUS is the large amount of edible/drinable goodies available for free: granola bars, eggs, fruit, butter, bread, fruit juice, mineral water, etc. After a couple of days we met Sally, the owner, a warm welcoming lady who turned out to be a useful source of information for things to do in town. She even offered us free tickets to the Hillwood Mansion and garden. What more could you want?

Georgetown rowhouse

4 of 5
Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location of this house could hardly be better. It's one block from Wisconsin Ave and access to Dumbarton Oaks & Rock Creek Park, public transportation, restaurants, and food shopping, etc. This home's layout is typical of Georgetown properties, I.e., narrow width and deep, which means less natural light in the middle part of the home, but it was very clean, comfortable, and has character.
The galley kitchen is big enough for one person, so this home may not be suitable for people who want to prepare home-cooked meals a lot. OK for simple meals, though.

Great family vacation rental

5 of 5
This was the first leg of our 1 month visit in the US from abroad, and it was a most positive experience which set the tone for the rest of our trip. The home itself was very comfortable and well kept with all the needed amenities. The owners went out of their way to help us resolve some issues we had, and the neighborhood was so quiet, pretty, pleasant, and conveniently located. Highly recommended.
