A Pleasant Weekend on Capital Hill

4 of 5
Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall the property was very good. Everything was clean, and all systems worked well. Although the bathroom was very small, it was clean and well stocked. The bedrooms were very comfortable, and the back deck was a plus, although we really did not have a chance to utilize it. The biggest negative to the property was the lack of a handrail on the stairs coming down from the landing. For children or anyone with a balance probem this could have been very dangerous. Also, there was not soap for doing the dishes when we left, and there was not a decent set of wine glasses in the apartment, which I would have expected at this price. Also, the management company was not willing to help get a parkng permit for our car, which is a service I had previously from a AirBNB that we rented in the same Capital Hill area.

Very pleased with our stay

5 of 5
We recently rented this house for 7 nights during our kids' (ages 14 & 16) March Break. We all loved the house. Being an end unit, it had windows on three sides - large, bright windows with stained glass accents. The decor was rich & eclectic, very welcoming. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. There is a freeway behind the house and we wondered if noise would be a problem. Once there, we were aware of the hum of traffic, but it was not bothersome. Deborah, the owner, was very timely in responding to our booking inquiries and was accessible by phone after we arrived and had a question. It was a ten minute walk to the Metro station, with many interesting restaurants along the way. It was a 20 minute walk to the capitol building. We would recommend this rental to others.

Incredible place

5 of 5
I was so incredibly pleased with this little apartment. I like to write reviews with helpful information for fellow women traveling alone. This apartment is so convenient to the metro and I felt very, very safe here. It's so wonderful to have a living room to come to at the end of the day. I walked from Capitol Hill to the Eastern Market, grabbed some sausage and pasta for dinner, another three or four blocks back and my day was done! The only caveat, which has been previously mentioned, is the narrow and steep staircase to the apartment. Not a problem for me, but might be for some. I travel to DC several times a year and am right now re-booking this gem.
