Marvelous, spacious & well located unit

5 of 5
We rented this unit for a week during a family trip to Washington, D.C. The trip's purpose was to visit monuments, governmental landmarks, and other local attractions, particularly for our two teenage sons. Our top priorities for a unit were three sleeping areas, two bathrooms, location, and a kitchen. This unit fit every need to a "T". The unit has two large bedrooms, and two large bathrooms. The living area also had a very comfortable couch that could be used for sleeping. This layout was perfect for everyone's needs. The master bathroom featured a large shower, and the second bathroom had a combination shower/tub. The kitchen was a perfect size for a short stay like ours, or probably even a longer stay. The kitchenware was of a nice quality and plentiful for our needs, and there was a dishwasher to use as needed. The unit is located in a new apartment building at H Street and 10th Street NW. It's actually on 10th Street, just a bit north of H Street. The building looks great and has a concierge area just inside the front door. The concierge and management company are wonderful and very helpful. There's a small, but good sized, work-out facility in the building, that we used a few times. The furnishings and overall quality of the unit were great as well. The unit looks very nice, had great urban views, and was very, very quiet (another big hit for us, as I am a light sleeper). You could occasionally hear some street noise, like a siren, but it's quiet for an urban location such as DC. Finally, Mark made the reservation and renting process very easy and straightforward. He was very responsive and helped accommodate our requests (like a unit with a king sized bed). Everything was as promised. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay here again next time we come through DC.

Great location with fabulous view!

5 of 5
Everything we expected and more! We arrived after dark to an amazing view of the DC skyline. The Washington Monument, Capitol Building, Jefferson Memorial and National Cathedral were all clearly visible from this apartment. The location was well within walking distance of great restaurants, shopping and two short blocks to the Courthouse Metro Station. A small market is adjacent to the building so we had instant access to basic sundries until we could shop at Whole Foods Market the following day. Apartment was well equipped, clean and comfortable. We will stay here again!

Apartment Review

To help future visitors-when you first get to the property-there are parking spots around the corner off of Fairfax that are marked for future residents. We did not know and had some stress trying to figure out how to park and check in. My husband had to drive around until I could get the parking pass from the front desk. The unit was okay-not as luxe as the description suggests. The beds were comfortable. It was nice having a washer & dryer in the unit but they were older machines. There are no place mats or tablecloths for the table. Although, the unit says no pets-the building residents had quite a few dogs-in case someone is allergic-they ride in the elevators etc. We love dogs so no problem with us. We bought an extra parking pass for the three nights for our Navy son-he was called back to the ship after 1 night and we could not get a refund for the other two nights. There was no military discount either. The grocery store in the building was convenient but expensive-we used it anyway since we do not know the area and did not want to drive around too much. We used the club room (for pool) and the business center which was nice. The wifi did not always work in the unit. We did not swim in the pool but it looked nice. Since this was our first trip back East, we really did not know the area. If we come back we will probably stay at a Hotel- just to be able to get more information about the area and more flexibility with check in/out times. The concierge(s) was helpful. We were missing facial tissue and were not able to get any until after the weekend. The view was nice since we were in a higher floor. Starbucks was a couple of blocks away. Overall, the apartment worked for us. We were only there three nights and we had to drive to Newport News,VA one day so we did not get to enjoy the area as much as we would have liked.
