Fun location, Histroic Property

4 of 5
HI! I traveled to DC with my husband and parents. The location of this property was very nice, close to a metro, a grocey store and in fun vibrant neighborhood that was nice to walk around in. However, we are from a small town and used to relative quite at night, and my experience is that city noise can be disturbing to sleep. So we sought out a quite house and this property was not very quite, inside or out. Every door and the floor was squeaky, so if someone walked to the bathrooms at night it was noisy. Two houses down there is a major construction project which would start up at 7:30 every morning. There was also a emergency vehicles on and off all night. Additionally the apartment complex across the street created some late night noise as well. We did find the property was well appointed, the kitchen was nicely stocked and there was room to stretch out. There are lots of rules at this property I found strange, like they will charge $5 if one glass is broken and then all of their glasses and dish wear was from Ikea. We didn't have any issues with damage or charges, but watch out for that and read the rules. The owner Allen was very attentive and seemed willing to help out if there were issues, but we didn't have any issues so we didn't actually interact with him.

Great place to stay in DC !

5 of 5
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at this property. Everything was exactly as described. Outstanding dining recommendations . All other provided information was accurate and helpful. We parked our car at Union Station which is an easy walk to the house. We had one snafu upon arrival to the house which was immediately resolved with a simple phone call to the homeowner -Alec. Outstanding response! It also helped that the weather was perfect. We walked to most everything. We found the surrounding neighborhood to be quiet and we felt absolutely safe walking the area day or evening. We did use the bus service a couple times and had no issues. We would absolutely stay here again if we return to DC. Alec was great to deal with. Highly recommend the Eastern Market area for dining. Aqua Al 2 & Montmartre are outstanding dining options. Recommend making reservations.

Number Ten Location!

5 of 5
This was our second trip to DC so we knew the Eastern Market Capitol Hill area BUT we were so amazed by this wonderful And convenient location to the Metro, restaurants and stores. This is a delightful apartment in a lovely neighborhood. Kirk provided many resources for the area, a parking permit for the one night we still had the car (no need for car at all, but had not returned it on arrival). The apartment is comfortably and tastefully furnished, let alone spacious, even with a back deck for outside relaxing. We attended events at the Kennedy Center, free shuttle bus picks you up from Metro exit. Eastern Market Metro takes you almost anywhere you want to go in DC. The Eastern Market has the tastiest pastas, sausages and cheeses, veggies and fruit for easy meals at home. We enjoyed Trattoria Alberto on our last night, feels like you are a regular, authentic Italian food. Though there are 3 suites in the one building, accommodations were private and quiet. The accommodations are what we would call apartments. We felt safe in the area no matter what time we arrived home. Halloween night was a fun happening just up the street in front of the Eastern Market. We sincerely appreciated the barely half block to the front door from the Metro after filling our day with major treks through museums, the Capitol, White House Tidal Basin and other historical sites. Kirk had recommended DC tours. The night tour was fantastic with a comfortable ride in a small van and stops with time for photos at major monuments. We would not hesitate to recommend Eastern Market Suites to family and friends. This will be our first choice for a return trip.
