A good time was had by all.....

5 of 5
This has to be the best property on Smith Mt Lake! It is as beautiful on the inside as the pictures of the outside. It was so clean, decorated so amazingly, and stocked with every condiment, spice and kitchen tool you could possibly need. And when you are coming back to it by boat it is so easy to know you are heading in the right direction because the house is built right on the water! The description on the listing was totally accurate in every way! The owner is so very nice and helpful. It's like having a good friend to call at any time for assistance, if you need it. The fishermen in our group fished right off the dock and had so much fun! There is a fire pit with lots of chairs around for night time fun including roasting marshmallows and making S'mores. We got take out our first night there from Anchor Family Restaurant which was quite close and quite good! Also there is a convenience store close by for fishing worms and anything else you might need. I highly recommend this property to everyone!!!!

Perfect: house AND location

5 of 5
Just home from a stay with 5 adults and 3 kids (under 5) and it was wonderful! The house and grounds are immaculate and the bedroom layout has a lot of flexibility and privacy. The kitchen is amazingly well stocked but maybe the best part is that the kitchen, dining and living areas are all open and absolutely HUGE. There is an over-sized dining table which made it so comfortable for all of us to eat together. It was so wonderful to be cooking in the kitchen, while others were at the chess table and the kids were playing - all "together" but in separate spaces. It's close to shopping, boat rentals and restaurants and the neighborhood is lovely. Dock is well maintained and although we didn't use them there are sun awnings on both the dock and the house deck. The downstairs "playroom" was a great spot for the older kids to romp and the jacuzzi tub was the spot for adults to relax. Two car garage connected to the house made unloading the car easy- and a dry spot for kids to pitch their play tent when it rained. The cove is quiet and protected and you get beautiful sunrise views. Commercial gas grill, two refrigerators... Can't say enough nice things... except we are already planning a return visit next year. (And dealing with the rental agent was a pleasure.)

awesome!

5 of 5
We stayed at this property after a careful process of elimination. I like to take my children to a different state every year and this has by far been my favorite. Its always difficult picking a place to stay when all you have to go by are reviews from strangers but I am certainly glad all the reviews on this property and of SML were extremely accurate. The property was simply amazing. We had wildlife on our property pretty much at all times of the day. The screen porch was the main area for the adults. The kids loved the big tv in the great room and the older ones loved the basement. The jacuzzi was one of the best I've ever been in. We rented a pontoon for a few days from Bridgewater Marina and the people were some of the friendliest Ive ever encountered. The Food Lion and civilization being very close by was a good thing because with a bunch of hungry/bored teens we ran out of food quick! We ALL loved feeding the giant carp down at Bridgewater marina. We ate at Moosies and Mangos and the food and atmosphere were top notch. We ventured out to the Booker T Washington park and if youre a history buff like myself its worth the 15 mile drive. We didnt do much as far as sightseeing or venturing out because the adults really wanted a relaxing vacation. The older teens also enjoyed the paddle boards and we brought our own kayaks. They basically left us alone except when they were hungry. It was by far the most relaxing, serene FAMILY vacation we've ever been on. The drive in on route 43 ( I believe) was breathtaking. We tried to go to the Peaks of Otter when leaving but it was so foggy it was impossible to even see mountains. The house was well equipped with everything you needed. Lastly, the temps were so cool at the end of Aug that we had the ac turned up on most days and nights. Thank you Bill for sharing your home we hope to come back!
