clean, organized, lovely

5 of 5
This was our 4th cabin renting in this area and the Great Escape was also the "greatest" one we rented. It was ideal for a family of 4 and our dog. The owners took the time to shovel the last minute snow that compiled about 6 inches, and it was nice and toasty inside when we arrived. The inside was clean, and all the essentials were there including extras! The dryer was so great to have on hand to dry our wet clothes so we could get back into the jacuzzi! The view was spectacular, and it was so peaceful. There were stores close enough if you need them and we ate at the best Mexican restaurant out there. There wasn't T.V. which we found refreshing. Our kids didn't like that part so much-but we were able to rent movies-so our sanity was not compromised. But we took the time to play games and go hiking and build a snowman. We felt cozy, safe and at peace away from the craziness of traffic and schedules. Thank you to the owners for their attention to detail and making the "Great Escape" live out to its name.

Great Stay

5 of 5
We had a great time at the cabin. We were on the fence about booking it after reading other reviews about the noise, but we were really glad we went. I think we heard the train twice in the two and a half days we were there, but it wasn't very loud, definitely not loud enough to wake us up. The cabin is a really warm welcoming place. There were a lot of nice seasonal decorating touches, and we enjoyed the porch swings, jacuzzi, fire pit, and board games. We'll go back.

Great Getaway Spot

5 of 5
Hilltop Cabin was as described and better. The location is great, close to a public boat launch where you can fish the Shenandoah, great country for cycling, and only a short drive to the National Park. The cabin is well prepared, spotless, warm and with all necessities, including linens and plenty of towels to use after the fantastic hot tub. The place is beautiful, with a rustic look, but with luxury appointments, full kitchen with washer, hot tub (indoor and out) etc. A true gem, we will be back.
