                      Quiet, relaxing, and well-appointed

                      5 of 5
Enjoyed a few days & nights at this house. The place is as shown in the photos. The internet & cable worked well, and there were many premium cable channels / HD channels. Kitchen has all sorts of items for cooking, a great view, and the option to eat outside on the front or back areas. Just need your own sheets & towels & toiletries. Walked to the Shenandoah River further down the driveway past the house, and set up a portable hammock (the hammock was mine, not part of the house). Did not use the fire pit or hot tub. Picked fresh raspberries nearby along a road/path. Note the house is on a dirt road, about 5 or 6 miles after the paved road changes to dirt. Mobile phone coverage, as expected, was not there for Verizon or TMobile - ask if your carrier works there at the time of your stay. As the other review says, bring your food as the shopping is 30-40 minutes away. On the way you will pass a tubing outfitter place. GPS was able to find the house, but it was different than the "GPS location" sent to me, so just be ready to keep driving if needed on the dirt road. The white fence is easy to see, and the road ends a mile or so later. The owner was friendly (only spoke on the phone), and nicely mailed me a forgotten charger after my stay as well!

                      The BEST Time!

                      5 of 5
Clean. Quiet. Fun. Our whole family of nine loved our time in Virginia. Mike and Teresa have thoughtfully prepared THE COTTAGE. Our daughter and her husband took a canoe about six miles up stream and paddled back to the property. They practiced their Pocahontas songs along the way. :). Everyone enjoyed sitting in the many comfy chairs to watch the river and to read and to just relax. One night we had a fire in the huge fire pit down near the River and had tinfoil dinners. Later we roasted marshmallows and made s'mores for the great-grandparents. They'd never had that delight. One adventurous soul slept two delightful nights in the teepee. With three toddlers, it was great to have the toy box and also a washer and dryer. We totally enjoyed our stay. We'd love to come again and would recommend it to anyone.

                      Beautiful views and home!

                      5 of 5
Sean and Frank were great hosts. Everything we needed was there, including games and comfortable beds. The house is the perfect distance from DC for a quick weekend getaway and the views were amazing. My friends and I hope to make an annual visit. No complaints!
