Stunning views with all comforts of home

5 of 5
This was our family's (4) second visit, and while we love finding new places, it's impossible not to return here again as it meets every desire. First off, the Shenendoah views from the bluff are glorious and the river access (via wooden steps and a lower deck) is perfect. If it weren't freezing, we'd take full advantage of the kayaks and fishing from the private dock. Nothing more relaxing than sitting in the hot tub or either well appointed deck (upstairs and down) and soaking in the scenery. The house layout is simple and efficient and would easily accomdate two families of four. Furnishings are modern and comfortable and the gas fireplace is easy to use and provides great heat. The beds are comfortable and linens excellent. While natural entertainment is great (firepit wonderful, though best to gather wood in daylight), wifi and two large screen TVs with cable go a long way to making everyone happy. The kitchen is well-equipped (will make use of blender next time) and 24-hour Walmart ten minutes away means any groceries or supplies you forget are well within reach. There's a charcoal grill as well. Situated just off Interstate 66, the cabin is just about a 75 minute drive from Washington, DC. Close to Front Royal and Winchester, you can find restaurants, shopping and activities within a short drive, including northern entrance to Skyline Drive and Skyline Cavern. The property manager has always been responsive and helpful, though as things go so smoothly, rarely interaction beyond initial. All in all, a fantastic getaway for the whole family and highly recommended.
