private yet close to river and the city

                      4 of 5
We stayed at the James River House and had a wonderful time. We especially enjoyed being so near the river. We brought our kayaks and watched eagles and ospreys.. We also visited a James River plantation which was just down the road. This place is great....close to the city, yet so private and peaceful.

                      Good place to stay!

                      4 of 5
The location of the rental was great, very convenient to shops, and restaurants. The park was very, very close which made it convenient to walk our dog. The home was nice and roomy..... We told the owners about our disappointment that there was no iron, as we arrived late in the night and had a very important meeting the next day. The owners quickly corrected the problem the next day. They purchase a iron and ironing board and delivered it to the front door. My only small complaint is the door knob to the bathroom keep falling off and the coffee maker didn't work, so I had to run out to Starbucks. I would definitely stay here again...

Wish we all had a lake house this wonderful!

                      5 of 5
We stayed with a group of six friends and our stay was truly amazing. To start, this beautiful home is tucked away just miles from Richmond and 95. It was so easy to get to. Immediately when you walk in you understand why this house is a gem. We had more than enough space to move around and hang out, but also if we wanted separate space we could go anywhere. The house has everything, literally everything you need from kitchen utensils and small appliances to sheets, towels, etc. Take one step on the back deck and revel in true tranquility. The pool was awesome along with the basement which had air hockey, pool and table tennis. We used every inch of the house and grounds, okay not every inch this place is huge! Enough about the house, the owners are amazing. They were flexible with our checkin and checkout needs. Communication was a breeze as they responded almost immediately to several inquiries we had prior to our stay. Its a wonder this place isn't more frequented. I know once more people know about it won't be a hidden gem, but thats okay. Its so great its worth sharing. The owners even had a manual that had great details about the house and area. The recommendation on the Riverbound Cafe was spot on. Brunch on our last day was truly Southern and delicious.
