Great place

5 of 5
Really enjoyed our visit to the farm. Grounds are beautiful, and the owners really worked with us to make check in easy and answer all of my annoying questions about the property. A group of 30somethings celebrated a birthday here. Easy to trek out to wineries, and the fire pits were terrific for gathering after dinners. There isn't a big tv room or large space beyond the dining room to gather, if you're a family with kids parking in front of the TV, but we really enjoyed spending all our time in the house in the kitchen, dining room, and outside. Having so much space outdoors was absolutely terrific. You're in the country, but with all the conveniences very near by. Really enjoyed being here, and will likely return! Hosts were so easy to deal with. Thanks!

A perfect weekend getaway!

5 of 5
We ladies of the family traveled from Ohio, PA, and South Carolina to converge here in Southern VA for a weekend birthday celebration. The mountain road leading to the house winds thru the trees and along the river until just around the bend sits the lovely secluded property beside the creek. The house is clean, tastefully decorated, and warm enough to make you feel right at ease the minute you walk in. The kitchen is well stocked for in home cooking and there was plenty of dining space for the 8 of us. The beds had quality linens and were quite comfortable. We ladies especially enjoyed the upstairs living room and it's big sofas. We'd put the babies to bed and get out the coffee and dessert! We watched the deer cross the yard while cooking breakfast and saw more passing by as we sat at the dining room table. One of us even met a bear on her morning walk! The Cottage at Springwood is suitable in every way. Jim and Sherry were kind and gracious hosts!

What a wonderful place

5 of 5
High Fields Farm far exceeded my expectations. This is a beautiful place and our host, Alton, was so helpful with accommodating our needs. My son is in a wheelchair, so I was a little anxious about the layout of the house and the accessability. A homemade ramp was in place when we arrived.(just one of many special touches) We all felt "right at home". We loved the spacious kitchen and dining room. Everything was so clean and well kept, on the inside and outside. We didn't want to leave. Christine S
