We couldn't have asked for a more wonderfully equipped, comfortable and charming getaway home on the Eastern Shore. We went as a group of 10 friends looking to get away from busy DC living for Memorial Day weekend and found just what we wanted at Tucker's property. We passed the days swimming off the dock, kayaking and sailboating, tossing in crab cages (we only caught two but still fun), reading in the shade or lounge chairs on the screened in porch, etc. In the evenings we cooked big meals in the fully equipped kitchen/on the small charcoal grill, star gazed, went for night swims or browsed the immense family library. We were so fully entertained on site that no one wanted to leave for outside adventures. Town is about 15 minutes away which made food runs to the grocery store easy. A few things to note for anyone considering renting. As other reviewers have pointed out, the water in the house runs a bit rusty, however, the fridge has a water filter so no one in our group was bothered. The water off the dock was pretty shallow (about waist deep) and there is a muddy bottom, some people found it icky, but no problem in my book. The larger electric grill has died so only the charcoal was available. Fishing poles weren't in the best condition but we got one working alright. Otherwise the property lacks nothing and you'll lose yourself in this idyllic historical family home.
