The perfect oasis in the beautiful Virginian countryside

5 of 5
This was the second time we had the pleasure of staying at this amazing farmhouse. It has everything that you could want from a home away from home (really comfortable beds and linens, comfy chairs, well stocked kitchen, plenty of places for outside dining and relaxing, good sized swimming pool, outdoor grill, pool table....I could go on for a while!) Its only a 90 minute drive from DC but located in an extremely tranquil setting on the top of a hill; views are awesome! Loads to do around the area, its only a 15 minute drive to the State Park (great hikes and trails), 30 minutes from Charlottesville, close to lots of historical sites and plenty of golf courses (my kids loved this particular bit). The owner is a great source of information and couldn't be more helpful or delightful. I would (and do) recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a restful break in the Virginian countryside!

Wonderful Weekend Ski Getaway from Richmond VA

5 of 5
This is a very well maintained home with all the upgrades and extras. You literally dont have to bring anything except maybe foil and of course your own groceries. They have thought of just about everything, even down to the neat soap and shampoo dispensers in the showers. We had a group of 6 and never felt on top of each other. We didnt utilize the upstairs "bunkbed room" which has the bathroom with the jacuzzi kind of attached to it, weird layout as you would think that would be for the master, but it was cool. The master is on the first floor as soon as you walk in and has awesome high celings. Large and fancy dining room for breakfast and dinner, very spacious living room with fireplace, and kitchen with all the appliances you'll need. (Fridge has cool dimming light lol) There is also a bathroom with shower right off the kitchen. Outdoor fireplace and gas bbq grill was a nice touch, but the hot tub stole the show. It took some convincing to get others into the hot tub in the middle of winter, but once they were in we had a blast just listening to some music and taking in the picturesque mountain views. The game room was a hit as well, but most of the females stayed in the house as the game room is not connected to the home, it appears to be a converted shed. But it is heated, just more of a man cave. I would recommend some carpet, a fireplace, and a sofa of some sort to make it a bit more welcoming to the ladies. Also the puck for the air hockey does not stay on the table at all, but pool and ping pong were the favorites anyway. There were extra pool sticks, ping pong rackets, balls, etc..There were even some extra board games lying around (all really nice touches) All of the TV's on this property have really great speakers for flat screens, so just turn to the music channel and you're good to go. Massanutten was only 15 minutes away and is easy to memorize the route after just a few trips. Snow tubing was excellent! There is also a small town with a Family Dollar and Seven Eleven to name a few about 5 minutes down the road, yet on this "farm" you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. Pictures are accurate and almost don't do it justice, and clean as a hotel. Becky was quick to respond and very informative and rather proud of this property. I will definitely be BACK. :)

Gorgeous house, breath-taking countryside, and very gracious hosts!

5 of 5
We booked all four suites at Zion Springs for a group of people participating in an adventure race in Maryland. We were amazed at the gorgeous house with beautifully decorated rooms. The property is breathtaking - nothing like drinking a hot cup of coffee in the morning on the deck, overlooking the countryside in complete serenity. The food was fabulous and the accommodations were everything we could have asked for - and more! The Tigges family was fantastic and went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable weekend. Conveniently located near the battlefields, several wineries and the WO&D Trail, we will absolutely be returning. this is hand's down our favorite B&B. If you are looking for the B&B experience, look no further - we offer our highest recommendations for your stay at Zion Springs!
