Lovely and Cozy

5 of 5
We truly enjoyed our stay at Brooke and Nathan's cottage. I've rented several homes over the years and this one was by far the coziest. If you are looking for a toasty place to cuddle up, retreat with a small group, or just enjoy nature, Mountain Meadow is your place! Some of my favorite amenities were the new appliances, great kitchenwares, the plush bed (I slept like a baby), the peaceful decor, the fireplace, the skylight in the bathroom, surround sound system, the covered porch, the hot tub under the stars, and the extras you might forget like paper towels, charcoal for the grill, or spices. Wait.... I loved everything about their place! I also appreciated that Brooke took the time to ask about the activities I had planned for the weekend and made some recommendations. There was every brochure under the sun available to help navigate local recreation and amenities. Brooke and Nathan put a lot of love into crafting this space. I sincerely hope their future guests will honor the peace and beauty of their home. I am looking forward to staying here again and highly recommend it to others! P.S. The payment, deposit refund, and check-in processes were super easy too.

Warning: You won't want to leave

5 of 5
Our large extended family group stayed at this amazing home for a week over Christmas, and it exceeded every expectation. The photos truly don’t do it justice. The view from the huge expanded deck is simply stunning. If you go in spring, summer, or fall — or you’re lucky enough to get a warm winter day — grab your beverage of choice and congratulate yourself for finding such a great place. The great room with the huge TV will be appreciated by movie buffs. Cooks will enjoy the wonderful kitchen, and people who don’t want to cook but want to socialize will appreciate the open floor plan. Winter visitors will appreciate the huge fireplace and firewood provided. If you have a big group be sure to ask the owner about the apartment next door. The repurposed garage is great for gamers (video or good old ping pong). Above the former garage are two bedrooms, a bathroom, a small living area and a mini-kitchen. It’s ideal for teenagers or for people who want to be louder (or quieter) than the people in the main house. Other misc. notes: -Water lovers in the group will enjoy the lake access (lots of steps to get there, but well worth it), the canoe and the floating dock. -Several seniors in our group who had various hip and knee replacements liked the fact that the house is on one level. -Four legged family members will enjoy sniffing around the ivy covered front yard and leashed walks. With the abundant amount of birds, plus wildlife, plus other homes not on top of you but within several hundred yards, your dogs should have good recall or be trustworthy enough to hang out with their people pack on the huge (but ungated) deck. Just FYI, We found out at the end of our visit that there is a fenced dog park about 15 minutes away, but we weren’t able to check it out firsthand. -If you’ve been considering new living room furniture, the power leather recliners in the great room could be hazardous to your wallet after you leave this amazing lakeside retreat. -Tip: The luxurious master right off the kitchen should go to night owls who will enjoy late night great room conversations or movie-watching. Early birds should choose one of the bedrooms on the quieter wing of the house. Last but not least, Mark, the owner, was incredibly responsive and helpful with our last-minute rental and questions. He couldn’t have been nicer to work with and gave us a late checkout, too. If you're going to Lake Anna, you can't go wrong renting this place!

March fun!

5 of 5
Cape Cottage II was our home away from home for a week. My husband and I, our 3 children, and our two dogs had a lovely time. The space was comfortable and it had all that we needed. The back porch was a dream and on the sunny days we would lounge on the dock or in the porch. The water was beautifully clean and so inviting we had to jump in...just once. The canoe was fun as well. From the property you can paddle to the State Park. If you come early in the season, you may not be able to swim, but you will have the lake to yourself! We did! We also hiked and laughed and simply enjoyed being together in this cottage on the lake. Thanks so much! We hope to be back sometime in the summer or fall.
