Out At Sea

5 of 5
With fabulous water views on three sides, we felt like we were out at sea on an ocean liner. And since it rained most of the time we were there we were lulled by the sound of the raging surf. The house is beautiful and extremely comfortable. The kitchen was well outfiitted and easy to cook in. The master bedroom is huge, and the master bath sports the best shower I've ever been in, with special spouts all over. My only disappointment was that there was nothing near by to visit. Even the only market was Food Lion, 10 miles away. A number of places were closed since we were there post Labor Day. So if you go off-season, just bring all the food you'll need and pretend you're on a ship!

Exceptional vacation spot!

5 of 5
Gloria and Tim, after over a decade of renting vacation cottages in the area, we have to say that our experience at Blue Heron Point exceeded all expectations! The setting is lovely, not overbuilt and touristy like several areas have become. The house was immaculate, and the amenities that it offered - the salt water pool, the charming garden room house with separate lodging, the sun porch for relaxing and reading, the well-equipped kitchen and laundry, and the super garden with its fresh vegetables - were outstanding. Its location on that point of land where blue herons are a daily sight is truly beautiful, and its nearness to grocery stores and the excellent seafood at the Cockrell's Creek store made shopping quite easy. All in all, we were treated to a very special vacation. Thank you for sharing Blue Heron Point with us!! Suzanne and Dennis

Perfect escape from it all and still have it all

5 of 5
I spent a wonderful weekend in the off season on personal retreat, and could not have asked for a more ideal setting. With panoramic views, absolute peace, and every possible amenity, this is truly a home away from home. The hosts see to your every need. I enjoyed watching birds, boats and the weather change from day to evening and day to day while I relaxed, cooked and recharged for the year in comfort. My family would really enjoy a week here during the summer because we enjoy each other's company and don't need tons of constant commercial stimulation, but this property is close enough to fun attractions to provide lots of options. This is definitely on our short list for summer possibilities.
