This is most definitely towards the end of the road less traveled... And to me, that was a selling point! The pictures almost do the place justice - but you just have to be there to truly enjoy the clean, crisp air, the subtle sounds of nature all around, and the unmistakable feeling of really being "away from it all." The guest house is very nicely appointed, and well maintained - as are all of the grounds, which given the size and scope of the place, is quite impressive. The owners were very friendly, even checking in with us and trying to help resolve a minor problem with the satellite TV reception. I would certainly recommend this to any friends or relatives looking for a nice getaway from the every day. (But the TV and Wi-Fi are still there if you don't want to be totally unplugged.) We stocked up on food at the Food Lion in Luray on the way in, so we didn't have to leave at all after we arrived. The kitchen had everything you could possibly want to cook with, and the Weber grill was fantastic. The hot tub was just right for relaxation, and some great star gazing. We also took advantage of the fire pit down by the river. That made for a really nice final evening. All in all, it's a great place. We very much look forward to going back!
