Outstanding View Nice Condo Something for Every Family Member

5 of 5
First time to SML and we are so happy we ended up at Mariner's Landing in this condo. After boating around most of the lake, I think Mariner's Landing has the best mountain view. Porch is great for hanging out and relaxing to see all there is to see happening on the lake or just gazing in awe at the mountains and the clouds surrounding them. Communications with the owner were simple. Owner was responsive. The payment and check in procedures were easy to understand and execute. We submitted a reservation, confirmed and paid all via an iphone sitting in the stands at the Nats game. Two young boys (6, 8) had plenty to do at the Mariner's Landing beach (sand no rocks, dock to swim to/dive off and water volleyball court.) Free kayak rentals - kids made it all the way across was the perfect thing to do in overcast/rainy weather. They enjoyed the pools. We played family tennis. I ran. We saw deer. We rented a boat on the other side of the lake for a day. We navigated back to Mariner's Landing and tubed. It was great to dock and visit the condo for a break from the sun. The state park is just minutes away and has hiking trails. Condo has everything you need for comfort and cooking meals. Internet was quick and reliable. We liked bringing/using our own towels. I didn't expect sink/bath soap, toilet paper, paper towels and dishwashing detergent, garbage bags but they were there when we arrived. Coffee filters were a bonus because we didn't bring large ones. (This was our first condo rental so I don't know what supplies are standard.) Condo was very clean. The condo building was very quiet and very clean and was a comfortable temperature. Yes as mentioned in other reviews, the key-less entry was uber convenient. It's not something that sounds important when you are reading the reviews, but when you show up with your bags it is nice to walk right in without needing to formally check in. Store with basics is very close. Food Lion is much farther but it is a pretty drive. There is no restaurant at Mariner's - looked like they closed up shop. The only things that were slightly disappointing and are not the responsibility of the owner are that the game room was never open which disappointed the kids and the outdoor hot tub jets didn't work so that very warm/still water was unappealing to me. I highly recommend this property for anyone seeking a quiet, relaxing experience. If we chose to stay in a condo on our next visit, this is the first one I'll check.
