Lovely cabin near National Forest...

4 of 5
The cabin is quaint and peaceful. Situated very close to the George Washington National Forest which allows for a fairly easy, but beautiful hike. The cabin was exactly as described. The family (Katie and Steven) were there to check us in and were very nice and hospitable. The cabin overall was quite comfortable and cozy. The beds slept very well, also. One fairly significant issue that should be noted from our visit were what appeared to be mice. The first night we did see a mouse scurrying on the screened-in porch. Throughout the rest of the stay we would hear a mouse or two scurrying within the walls or above the ceiling. This freaked out the kids a bit and would come down from the loft in the middle of the night in order to sleep in the second bedroom. If it were just me and my wife, it would not have been an issue, but due to the fact that it upset the kids, I thought it should be something to share with others with kids who may be considering this cabin. Otherwise, the cabin was wonderful and would definitely consider returning again if we end up in that part of Virginia again.

Cozy and Quiet

5 of 5
This cabin everything my husband and I thought it was going to be and more. It was quiet and very cozy. The place looks exactly like the photos. Th view was amazing from the porch. I was met at the cabin by 1 of the owners Katie and her daughter. They were extremely nice and helpful with the working of everyhting in the cain. I would definitely stay here again. If your looking for a quiet getaway with your spouse or kids this is the place to go. I'm actually planning my next trip with my whole family. This cabin was definitely a good choice for us.

What More Do You Need?

5 of 5
Steve and Katie's Creekside Cabin was a perfect holiday weekend getaway for us. They provided everything we could possibly need with all the modern conveniences, however, it still maintained a wonderful rustic feel as a cabin with it's own private fire pit by the creek that was enjoyed nightly. There are two trees down by the creek that was perfect for my ENO hammock that I bought at REI on the way up, so glad I did, it was icing on the cake. Great local hikes, the friendliest neighbors and the best Farmer's Market in Harrisonburg were also highlights of our visit. Katie even dropped off fresh eggs from their hens, come on now, what more do you need?
