PERFECT SUMMER VACATION SPOT

5 of 5
My family had the best time at this clean, comfortable, private cabin. Steven and Katie are very welcoming and place customer service as their top priority for guests. They took the time to show us where to access the rivers. The kids played for hours at the river. It was so beautiful and peaceful. A true getaway....a vacation spot you can come home from not feeling like you need to recuperate from your vacation ;D The house was cozy and spacious at the same time! There ARE stairs to access the upstairs! That isn't shown in the pictures but made us feel a lot better knowing the kids could access the upstairs/loft on stairs rather than the ladder. The kids loved playing in the loft and on the stone patio. We dined out on the patio which is so quaint and private. We watched cardinals and hummingbirds zip by throughout our stay. There's so many windows in the home which allows you to enjoy the beauty of the mountain from inside, as well. We hiked the mountain roads, picked wild blackberries, and thoroughly enjoyed the river. The kitchen is well stocked. The linens were high quality. The towels were nicer than a hotel. We did one load of laundry while there in the new machines. Steven and Katie even provided laundry soap, as well as dishwasher pods and charcoal for the grill. The kids loved hanging out and playing games on the screened-in porch. My husband and I enjoyed watching t.v. some evenings as they have a nice cable set up. The drive up the mountain (in the summer) to the house seemed tricky at first, but we managed. After that first time up, we knew what to do and had no problem after that (and we do not have four wheel drive). Our week spent up there was nothing but wonderful. We definitely plan on heading back to the mountain and staying at one of Steven and Katie's properties again. We didn't need to contact them for anything specific with the house, but they assured us that if we needed anything at any time then just call and they would be available to make sure our stay was perfect. We highly recommend renting with Steven and Katie!!

WOULD STAY AGAIN

5 of 5
My husband, dogs and I had a great time! There was plenty of room for the dogs to run around and play in the yard. The deck was really nice. Husband even slept outside one night. Even though we were in the midst of summer , it wasn't buggy which is nice too. The kitchen had plenty of utensils/cookware even though we brought our own. The beds were comfortable and the cabin was not spotless but pretty clean. The bathrooms were plenty clean enough for me, so that was a bonus. Based on the pictures it definitely seems that the owner has made a few upgrades too. I definitely appreciated the all in one price too, it was very convenient not having to figure out well how much extra if someone else comes or with the dogs etc.etc. Bottom Line: The husband and I have stayed in a dozen cabins in the WV, VA area. We have paid a lot more and gotten a lot less then this. If you aren't looking for perfection but are looking to save a bit of money - you won't do better then this cabin - which is why I gave it 5 stars. TIPS:The upstairs shower has way better water pressure. Upstairs tends to get quite stuffy if it is above 95.0, so keep that in mind if you are coming with a larger party. Downstairs was plenty cool.

WONDERFUL FAMILY STAY!!

5 of 5
We have just returned home after staying the week in what we now consider our second home, the Creekside Cabin in Rawley Springs. Our large family LOVED every minute of our stay here. We have 5 children, ages 15,10,8,4, and 1 year, and all slept comfortably and had plenty of room to roam and enjoy the outdoors. For us, sometimes it is a challenge to find something all age ranges will enjoy, but this cabin and the surrounding area met all of our needs. We found the cabin to be clean and comfortable. The kitchen appliances all worked very well and I (mom) actually fell in love with the old sink and stove. :) It really made me feel connected with the people who originally built this cabin many years ago. The beds were incredibly comfortable, there is a pull out couch near the back of the cabin where our boys slept, and they were able to enjoy the sounds of the creek just as we were in the master bedroom. We slept so peacefully and soundly, and the quiet is what sticks out to us most of all. The area is not full of tourist traps and the like, it is just....simply a beautiful and very scenic area. Not a ton of people all around you, so if you want a place to relax and get away from it all, this is for you. The creek behind the cabin is beautiful, and larger than we expected based on the photos. We just couldn't believe it when we first arrived and saw it! Our kids, all of them, even the baby, enjoyed splashing in the creek. They really could have skipped rocks and played in there all day. We fished and only caught a few small trout, but it was fun nonetheless. The water is crystal clear! We also enjoyed campfires right on the water. It is actually quite shady in the back so the kids could play without the blazing sun on them. It was just amazing! Can't say enough about it! We did the hike to High Knob Fire Tower with all 5 kiddos, and that was tough but everyone enjoyed it. It did take us 3 hours round trip though. Again, the cabin and area are wonderful...the animals across the road are quite sweet! Kids fed them grass every day and now they want a pony of their own. (Haha, NO!) The cabin does have a bug or two here and there, but for heaven's sake it is a cabin in the woods! Also, there are these great things called a rolled up newspaper or a flip flop, they come in handy. :) The cabin is great, highly recommended! We are already making plans to return and have pretty much made this our family's "place" that we will always vacation to. That says a lot! :)
