The York River home was well priced, especially as regards to other competing homes on the VRBO site located in the general area. And service was responsive. I'd like to have given it 5 stars but we had a few problems, first with A/C and also a few other items. They were fixed very quickly, however. I must say the view was wonderful and the outdoor space was the best. LOVE that picnic table! My husband and I and our daughter and her BF had a great 4th of July supper and used the convenient outdoor grill.
My husband loved the view, the number and quality of TVs and the WiFi.
The linens were of nice quality and quantity. I've stayed at a lot of places where they either had no wash cloths or there were only a few, so this was a nice amenity. The decor was extremely pleasing and you could tell the owners/manager took great care to make sure the home was comfortable. I still say the cook top needs improvement and a couple NEW non stick pans would be wonderful. The older ones worked reasonably well, but not great.
The area is gorgeous. It does take a little driving to get places, but that's country living, as my daughter said. ;-)) We still managed to visit Richmond and the capital building there. They had a wonderful tour guide. We also hit Williamsburg, Yorktown, Virginia Beach and Charlottesville (Monticello).
The weather was muggy and hot, which prevented full enjoyment of the home. But the home is roomy, comfortable and did I mention the view? The sunsets were spectacular and you can see the view from almost every room in the home.
I gave my list of recommendations to the manager, Karen, and she was very grateful and solicitous with a prompt return of my deposit. This is a new listing but I think with time and feedback from future renters, it will become a VBRO favorite. And did I mention the view? ;-))
