Perfect winter getaway with amazing views

5 of 5
We are half tempted to give this place a horrible review in order to keep it a secret! My wife and I stayed the weekend along with two other couples. The cabin is clean, spacious, and has some amazing views of the river. The place feels extremely secluded, yet is within an easy drive of restaurants and grocery stores. The cabin came stocked with everything we would need for the weekend, including kitchen gear and a selection of books, DVDs, and board games. The house sits at the bottom of a long, steep gravel driveway and we happened to get about 10 inches of snow during our stay. The ample windows provided great views of the wintery wonderland, and we were happy to be "snowed in". Sean sent a plow and then on checkout day came to help push our cars up the hill! Can't recommend this place enough. We will be back!

The Perfect Valentine's Getaway

5 of 5
We certainly enjoyed it, out on the deck in 19° - in the hot tub. It was very romantic, with all the stars out late at night. Hot Tub Heaven is so much like being home. We have really enjoyed our short stay here. But we will be back. That's for sure. The fireplace was nice and warm on our cold days & nights. The decorations here were just right. We love it! That was very nice of you. Keep up the good work. Until next time, thanks again. See you soon!

We couldn't get people to leave

5 of 5
We were a group of 14 from Wash. DC so we rented both this and the Overlook House (about a 15 min. walk across mowed fields, or a 5 min. drive) for a weekend escape. This place is beautiful, impeccably clean and extremely comfortable, with quality furnishings and a well equipped kitchen. I had rented the Overlook house twice before, and felt a little guilty that we would be depriving our overflow friends "down here" of the fantastic views, but it was all we could do to get them to tear themselves away! The river bank "beach" area is lovely - I can see spending the whole day down there in summer. It is only about a 20 min. drive to the entrance of Skyline Drive & Shenandoah National park, but you can also easily satisfy your hiking & nature & mountain view desires just by walking around the property. The game room is certainly an attraction for kids and teens, but our group - 50ish - slapped out a few good games of ping pong and air hockey. And the dogs went absolutely nuts chasing and racing around!
