                          FAMILY GATHERING

                          5 of 5
The place was lovely and comfortable for everyone. The porch was a delight to hang out on and having a golf cart was a lot of fun. Some of the basic essentials in the kitchen were missing like salt & pepper and sugar, but not a big deal. Will plan to rent this one again if it is available.

                          FABULOUS GETAWAY

                          5 of 5
WOW! What a great house and town! I don’t know about you, but I lead a busy life in a hectic city. For my getaway, I was looking for a quiet and spacious house, where I could spend some peaceful time – a place to escape the busy world and collect my thoughts in a relaxing environment with my fiancée and special friends. What I found was even better than I expected. The house is gracious, spacious, and bright – a perfect space in which to rest and reflect. Whether sitting in a rocking chair on the wraparound porch, gazing out over the colorful flowers and sheltering trees, or sitting in the breakfast/sun room drinking coffee as I watched a rabbit scampering across the large lawn, or relaxing with a book on the sofa in the light-filled living room, I was always wrapped in a feeling of being at home the way it should be. For an escape to loftier heights, I would go to the top floor, which offered a completely self-contained “nest” from which to look down on the rest of the world – a great place to sleep too! Since everyone in our group loves good food, we found the large and well-equipped kitchen a treat. This house is the perfect place for family or friends to relax together and reconnect. The house is also a perfect base camp for excursions into the beautiful and quaint town that surrounds it. I really enjoyed walks along the peaceful streets and through the attractive neighborhoods and park. The beautiful, ornate houses bring charm and warmth to the town, which has the feel of a quaint waterside town of the early 1900s – a genteel place, where everyone is a kindly and familiar neighbor. As I walked, I would greet those I met with a smile and friendly greeting, and the same was returned to me. The uncrowded beach is also a great place to spend your time, and the sunsets over the water are beyond belief. I found myself making a daily pilgrimage to see the sunset whenever possible throughout my stay. I also found joy in watching children lost in delight as they ran in and out of the calm Bay water, and families simply enjoying their time together in a wonderful place. The downtown area is also a treasure of eclectic shops and fabulous places to eat. Needless to say, I indulged my boundless appetite for seafood in many forms. Fantastic golf courses are close by too. There is something for everyone. I loved my time at the welcoming Chesapeake Dream house in charming Cape Charles. You really should try this place yourself! AT HOME ON THE EASTERN SHORE.

                          5 of 5
We look for intimate connections to the places we visit. When we visited Edinburgh, my wife found one of the oldest lodging houses in Scotland and within a day we had a handle on what we could expect in Edinburgh, Scotland & beyond. The fact is that while most vacation homes we've rented are nice and comfy, most miss the opportunity to offer the local intimate connection to the area. You can typically replace one experience with another interchangeably, though the properties may be in completely different regions. Not here. Cat, the proprietor is a local who knows the shore and it shows. First off, she is AMAZINg! She gave us detailed insider's information on where to visit all over the Eastern Shore. Ginger's was our favorite. Secondly, the home is awesome! It is well prepared for visitors like myself who prefer feeling comfortably at home with TONS of room (indoor & out) to the small modern hotel room. We cooked the whole time both inside in the fully outfitted kitchen & on the grill. We enjoyed eating on the private back porch ad well as at the table. I found myself napping often on one of the large comfiest sofas. Again w felt at home. Thirdly, the price. I'm still in shock at how inexpensive this awesome find is. We didn't expect a lot for the bargain being offered. The fact is that we've found a vacation spot that goes to the top of our list. I considered not telling you about this amazing find because we'd love to keep it as our own secret, but that just wouldn't be right. If you're like us, you prefer the genuine item with it's quirky character over fluffy stays in homogenous hotels. This is the place for you and Cat is the proprietor for you. Happy travels.
