Quite and clean

5 of 5
My family with young kids enjoyed our stay at this cottage. The yard was private and the house was comfortable and clean. The beach just down the street from the house was pebbly and unkempt, but the kids didn't mind. Four blocks down is the nice sandy beach. The location of this house is on a pleasant street, but the one casino is a block and a half away. The casino (just keno and racing) is a bit shady and bedraggled, and I think it brings down the area. But, I would still come here again. It was wonderful to bike around the town. The owner offers a helpful sketch of the area, but it would be nice to have a information/welcome folder of info about Colonial Beach waiting for guests at the house (visitor center is not open during the off season). I'm glad we stayed here!

Nice place!

4 of 5
As noted, the house has been newly renovated. Pictures don't lie - great layout and nice design. There were 8 of us and we had plenty of room. It was great having 3 bathrooms! There are several small beaches all within walking distance. None of them were ever crowded. We took a day trip to Westmoreland State Park - well worth the visit. They have some great hiking trails, beaches AND an Olympic sized swimming pool. Also took a tour at Ingleside Winery - had fun doing the wine tasting. My son, son-in-law and grandchildren went fishing with Captain "Frog" and had a great day! They caught plenty of fish which we had for supper that night. (I left Captain Frog's business card in the binder at the house.) Kids had fun riding the bikes provided by owner - nice small town so safe for kids to ride around.

Great weekend get away.

5 of 5
What a fun and charming place for a get away! My wife and I stayed here for a weekend in July and it was just what we were looking for. It was relaxing and quiet yet only blocks from restaurants, the marina and the beach. The decor is fun and inviting and the patio and yard are nice for a cold beer or glass of wine when the sun drops. The kitchen was a huge plus for us as we love to cook and felt right at home cooking dinner one of the nights. The bed was comfortable and we slept like babies. The best part has to be the shower! Double shower heads each with their own temperature control make it feel like a spa! Seriously, I was blown away as most hotels don't even come close to something like that. All in all we had a great time and will be back!
