Fantastic!

5 of 5
Columbus Day weekend was the perfect time and blue haven in moon va turned out to be the perfect place for a family get together with our 2 sons and families. We found the house on vrbo and were intrigued by the description and the pictures. It was our first experience renting this way and we were a bit anxious. Our anxiety was wasted as this home is everything you see on the website and more! The owner met us there for a walk thru and it was like being with friends. By the time he left we felt at home. The appointments, the accommodations and the locale made for a special time. While the weather did not cooperate, it really didn't make a difference. The kayaks the canoes ,bikes, crab pots and fire pit provide fun for all ages. It was good to see a part of va that we hadn't been to and the quaint surroundings were worth the drive. We had thought we would visit some of the sites about an hour away but we were all so content to just enjoy our mini estate on the beautiful banks of the Chesapeake. The red moon one evening was superb and we enjoyed ending the adult part of the evenings at the fire pit. We were all on withdrawal as we headed home. Great memories that we hope to return to in the future. Thank you Bill! The dining room table seated our entire group for wonderful breakfasts and dinner

A Perfect Gathering Spot for All!

5 of 5
Tall Pines by the Bay is an exceptional property, perfect for creating lasting memories. Just over an hour drive east of the Richmond Airport and down narrow tree lined lanes, Tall Pines is nestled located along a beautiful tributary of the Chesapeake Bay. The home captivates guests with an expansive layout, capable of accommodating very large and diverse groups while still offering private spaces to get away from the action. The home is in spotless condition, beautifully decorated and fully appointed to handle every imaginable need. While too long to detail here, a complete list of kitchen items, pantry stock, linens, indoor entertainment and outdoor recreation items is available from the owner. There is an amazing variety available and everything is of a quality you would find in your own home. For those interested in exploring the area, there is a massive collection of maps, promotional brochures, weekly publications and menus available. Offering beautiful and often fog shrouded sunrises and the most stunning sunsets over the water, the absence of ambient light gives guests of Tall Pines an amazing star saturated night sky to enjoy around the fire pit with your favorite beverage following an evening barbeque. Bring your smart phone or tablet star gazing app! While our visit was over Christmas, water activities (boating, swimming, fishing and crabbing) would clearly be a warm weather highlight. The delightful owner resides nearby and was very responsive if needs arose or just for consultation. Our experience at Tall Pines by the Bay was exceptional and we unconditionally recommend it.

Perfect Anniversary Getaway

5 of 5
We spent a long weekend out here and wish we booked for more time! It was such a relaxing getaway! We were looking for a pet-friendly vacation home to stay in to celebrate 15 years of marriage with the entire family. Penelope provided helpful instructions on getting here. We were welcomed with a warm fire roaring in the Franklin stove as we entered the house. We were so happy and relieved to find a high-quality home to stay in for the next few days. The furniture and décor was impressive! The dining table truly brought out the home's rustic charm. It was rainy on the day we arrived but we were still captivated by the window views that can be seen looking towards the water. The weather was perfect the next few days. This was the best time to be out in the woods! It wasn't too cold but crisp enough to keep the summer bugs away (no mosquito bites!). Our two boys never wanted to go inside! It was a nice change to see them play outside instead of inside playing video games or watching TV. We got to fish and canoe in the river. The water was so still and calm! We were able to see the bottom of the river at the dock and dug up giant oysters in the bed. The fall leaves were beautiful at this time of year. We shot our family portraits out here with the dock and the autumn leaves as our backdrop. Thanks for sharing your home with us. The whole family (including the dogs!) had a wonderful, relaxing time! We look forward to visiting again! :)
