Peacefully Perfect

5 of 5
We were looking for a place to get away from "it all" but still be close enough to "it" for when we wanted to get out. This was perfect. Nestled down a path off a secluded mountain road, this house was both charming and amazingly peaceful. Hummingbirds, deer...all more plentiful than people. Lovely breweries and restaurants nearby (including our favorite, the pet friendly brewery "Blue Mountain"). Three Notch'd Grill was also delicious (pork belly is a must try). Easy drive to Staunton (the frontier museum is wonderful) and Charlottesville. The house was clean, comfortable, and cozy. Dick was a great host who made himself available but did not impose himself. The dog loved it. We loved it. We can't wait to come back.

Home Away From Home!

5 of 5
We arrived late at the cottage and were welcomed with the lights on, flowers on the table and a lovely note. The cottage was wonderful...it was truly a home away from home. My family and I were there for a wedding that weekend at Ash-Highland which was very close to the property. We would highly recommend staying here!

Can't get much better then this!!!!

My wife and I celebrated our 11th anniversary at this wonderful property and we loved it! The Carriage House was exactly as the description says, very spacious and very well appointed. Everything we needed was provided and the owners were very helpful with information about the area. We overslept both mornings due to the peacefulness and the great bed! They even allowed us bring our dogs which was very nice of the them to do. We also fell in love with one of their dogs named "Chubs" who was a gracious host as well! He took the lead on all our walks and led us around the property showing the way to the waterfall and all the other trails. Very cool dog! The hot tub was an awesome place to hang and enjoy the evening. About a 20 minute drive to the town of Scottsville where they have a couple nice eateries as well as the James River Brewing Company (great beer!). We would recommend this property to anyone at any age. A lot to do and see even if you never leave the house!
