Excellent Cabin

5 of 5
We had a fabulous weekend riding bikes on the New River Trail. We did nothing but ride or walk on the Trail the entire time we were there. If you haven't experienced this trail, it is excellent for all types of bike riders (all skills and ages). Such a beautiful trail and excellent way to view the river. The cabin is everything people have said. We rent a lot (mountains and beach) and this is the cleanest and without a doubt has the best kitchen supplies. We regret not staying another day since rain prevented us from doing anything Friday. We will be back! The owner was so, so easy to work with! If you do rent, use the directions she sends you. So much better than any route you will get via other sources (especially if you get car sick on windy roads) Thank you for opening your cabin to us!!

Perfect location, perfect retreat

5 of 5
Biked the Va. Creeper Trail and stayed at this property with another couple 10/9-10/12. Perfect for 2 couples. Highly recommend! This was our second time staying here and we love it! It is conveniently located in downtown Abingdon. Unless it was raining, which was a lot unfortunately, we were able to walk to everything. We were inside more than we planned due to the rainy weekend, but The Guest House is very cozy and comfortable ... we had a great time watching movies, playing games and just hanging out on the screened in porch. If we come back to do the Creeper Trail again, we will definitely plan to reserve The Park Street Guest House! Thank you Janet!

Into the Wilderness

4 of 5
If you really want to be "away from it all" this is the place to be. The cabin is located on a beautiful piece of property that over looks the New River. It is very well maintained and spotlessly clean. There is a nice big deck with chairs and tables and one portion of the deck is covered so even it it's raining you can sit outside. The cabin is supplied with a ton of movies, books, games and literature about the area. When you arrive you must put your own sheets on the beds, which does give you the piece of mind that they are fresh and clean. We all did think though that the mattresses could be a little more comfortable....little too soft. There were plenty of towels and paper goods. The kitchen is very well stocked. Great fireplace. Very nice grill for cooking outside. When you are driving to and from the cabin you must unlock a gate with a code that is given to you prior to arrival. You will either love the locked gate for the security of it or hate it for the inconvenience and some of that would depend on how often you leave the cabin, if it's at night and/or raining. The owners of the property are extremely nice, very helpful and easy to get in touch with if necessary. Our group was in the area to ride bikes and horses on the New River Trail. One restaurant that we did go to was in Wytheville and it was called the Log Home. It's a must go to place.
