Great retreat away from the city life

4 of 5
Great experience right from the beginning! No detail was left out and my guest and i felt like we were at "our" own home. The highlight was the massive deck that accommodated my party of six but could have easily held more. The owners provided everything from charcoal for the gril to laundry detergent. The resort activities were a short half mile drive if that, with the lake being an additional mile. If I have to list cons it would be from my girlfriend's perspective being that she's into interior design that the cabinets didn't have handles to open …she said the moisture from your hands would damage the cherry wood and no garbage disposal. The massive wall of windows provided plenty of natural light and huge flat screen tv that the guys could catch a quick glance at the game in between conversation :-) . Loved it had blast and will definitely be back.

Everything We Expected and More

5 of 5
First off, the owners were incredibly responsive during the reservation process and super nice. The house was great, very clean, and it was obvious that the owners considered this place another home, as there was obvious care taken in furnishing and maintaining it. The kitchen had everything you could think of, even a convection oven - we cooked several meals there. We have a dog and the house was super pet friendly - there were even dog dishes (though we brought our own). The dog run is nice and big and all you have to do is open a door from the screened in porch and let your pup loose. There were only 2 of us (and the pup), but there was plenty of room for many more. We spent a lot of time outside roasting marshmallows around the gas fire pit. That was probably our favorite part of the house. Bryce itself is a great little quiet resort tucked away in its own little valley. I spent most of my childhood summers there and it was really nice getting back. A lot has changed since over the years, but the important things are very much the same. Its just a great place to take in the outdoors and chill and it made for a perfect weekend. I would absolutely recommend this house to anyone. You won't be disappointed.

Wonderful scape from the DC area

5 of 5
I have been going regularly to this lake house for many years and I would definitely recommended for a getaway from the stress of the city. The house is really cozy, built in wood, with everything that you might need in order to feel comfortable (yes, it also has wi/fi, but you will not need it). The lake is a wonderful place for swimming, kayaking, bird watching, exploring, barbequeing or just laying around doing nothing but relaxing. From the deck you will have a wonderful view of the water, all surrounded by trees...it's too good to be just a couple hours from DC. As a plus, the sky and golf resort is less than 10 minutes by car, if you like those activities. It has also been a great pleasure to deal with Kathy, the owner, always enthusiastic about letting all her guests having a great time. She has also connected us with local farms around in order to get fresh eggs, meat and vegetables. A great place for a great adventure in spring, summer, fall or winter!!
