If you really want to be "away from it all" this is the place to be. The cabin is located on a beautiful piece of property that over looks the New River. It is very well maintained and spotlessly clean. There is a nice big deck with chairs and tables and one portion of the deck is covered so even it it's raining you can sit outside. The cabin is supplied with a ton of movies, books, games and literature about the area. When you arrive you must put your own sheets on the beds, which does give you the piece of mind that they are fresh and clean. We all did think though that the mattresses could be a little more comfortable....little too soft. There were plenty of towels and paper goods. The kitchen is very well stocked. Great fireplace. Very nice grill for cooking outside. When you are driving to and from the cabin you must unlock a gate with a code that is given to you prior to arrival. You will either love the locked gate for the security of it or hate it for the inconvenience and some of that would depend on how often you leave the cabin, if it's at night and/or raining. The owners of the property are extremely nice, very helpful and easy to get in touch with if necessary. Our group was in the area to ride bikes and horses on the New River Trail. One restaurant that we did go to was in Wytheville and it was called the Log Home. It's a must go to place.
