Amazing Experience!!!

5 of 5
We actually travelled to Sterling House over Thanksgiving in 2013. This was our first trip as a family of 5 to the BVI's. Our 3 kids were 4,9 and 11. Since this trip we have travelled to Fowl Cay Bahamas, and a VRBO house in Ireland. All were 5 star but this house takes the cake. We were so impressed with the house and the proximity to smugglers cove and several great restaurants within a few minutes. Donna was a huge help with the rental car and recommending charter boats, beach toy rentals (Kayaks, paddle boards, fishing rods). We are a family that loves adventure and seeing different places every time we go on vacation, but even my 5 year old son (4 at the time) wishes we could go back to the Sterling house. Thank you Donna for a wonderful experience. Your housekeeper's hospitality was great. We miss Sterling house dearly. Truly FIVE STAR!!!\ Gotta go to Banannakeet, heck of drive, but well worth it.

Stunning location, exceptional vacation for friends and family

5 of 5
Spectacular setting and beautiful, spacious home in Tortola's West End - easy to access 45 min. ferry from St. Thomas, but secluded from the busy main port of Roadtown. The friendly property manager met us at the ferry with our rental car(s) and lead us to the house to make sure we were settled in. The West End is filled with luxury villas, lovely restaurants and secluded beaches. We stayed for the week of Thanksgiving with our 3 teenage/young adult sons - all who had a memorable experience. This location is perfect for those who like to avoid the "all-inclusive resort" type vacation, and seek to experience the authentic beauty and flavor of the BVI while still feeling pampered and enjoying a luxury vacation. This beautifully appointed home served as the perfect base from which we explored the island. The house was filled with fresh flowers from the gorgeous and abundant gardens that surround the house and the sparkling pool is also lighted at night for after-dinner dips. Furnishings are fine quality, the kitchen is fully stocked with cookware and beautiful tabletop items. We spent one amazing afternoon snorkeling in the hidden-away Brewer's Bay (rent snorkel gear at Blue Water Divers at either Nanny Cay or Sopers Hole). The beach was deserted, and the fish abundant. On another day we zipped through the tree-tops over Roadtown with the Original Virgin Canopy Tour - a fantastic operation run by seasoned pros. Half the adventure is just getting to their base of operations high above Sir Francis Drake channel. Another fantastic day was spent sailing to Virgin Gorda Baths and snorkeling around the sunken Rhone ship with Aristocat Charters (out of either Sopers Hole or Roadtown). But the best part of the trip was lingering around the gorgeous pool at the Villa, enjoying the spectacular sunrise and sunsets from the generous balconies, and appreciating the incredible level of detail that went into the house. You'll find everything you need and more - nothing has been overlooked. Groceries can be bought at the convenience store near the house, or at one of the larger supermarkets on the island. You'll need a 4-wheel drive vehicle for the many hills on the island, but it's all part of the adventure. Thanksgiving dinner at The Sugar Mill on the north side was beautiful and historic; a perfect setting. Everyoneone was warm, inviting, friendly and helpful - can't overstate the quality of this experience; we'll be back!

Tortola Adventure started with the driveway...! and continued from there...

4 of 5
The trip to Tortola was in the off-season. Our first impression of Tortola, was similar to that of St. John... that locals were much more friendly on this island than on St. Thomas. The adventure started with the steep driveway... Man do they like their steep roads and driveways on Tortola. The island was a bit slow in the off season, and many places were closed, but the places that were open were great. The initial impression of the Tortola Adventure condo was that it was a little more rustic than displayed in the photos. But by the conclusion of the stay, the location became a very comfortable base of operations and we settled in nicely. The views are amazing and sleeping with the doors open was awesome. Thankful for the mosquito nets, because the buggers were out with a vengeance after the rains. The WiFi access was crucial in planning out our days, although cable and dsl connection on the island is spotty and inconsistent. Hopefully Tortola will improve its information backbone in the days to come... We had a great time and great weather in Tortola, it only rained once at night during the 4 day stay (during the hurricane season) while we were there. We drove all around the island from West End to Trellis Bay. Got out into the water to SUP at Cane Garden Bay, rented a great 24' boat from Mark and Katrin at Island Time Powerboats and visited the Baths at Virgin Gorda, snorkeled Ginger Island, Cooper Island, the Indians, the Bight and the Caves at Norman Island with the help of Captain Lou. Great meals at Long Bay Beach Club (Long Bay), Myett's (Cane Garden Bay), Sharky's (Royal BVI Yacht Club), Captain Mulligan's (Nanny Cay), Watering Hole (Road Town) and Brandywine Estate Restaurant (Brandywine Bay). Enjoyed the drinks at Peg Legs (Nanny Cay), Myett's (Cane Garden Bay), Brandywine (East Road Town) and a stop off at Stoutt's Look Out for a Look Out Punch a must. Captain Mulligan's a great place to catch a meal, drink and watch some sport. Dove off the Willy T at the Bight, enjoyed a few Painkillers at the Soggy Dollar Bar, and even visited Foxy for a serenade on Jost Van Dyke. We fit a lot in on our 4 day stay in Tortola and coming back to enjoy the view from the infinity splash pool was always a plus.... All in all we enjoyed our Tortola Adventure and the location was a great base of operations. The Virgin Islands are a water sport adventurers play ground. Great people, great views, great beaches, great water and great fun.....!
