We thoroughly enjoyed our week stay at Bombalassy and would happily return for another visit. We found that the pictures accurately portrayed the property and the view but there is no way pictures could fully capture the panoramic beauty. We walked into the home and we were thrilled with the view and accommodations. Myrtle and Curtis take so much pride in the property and it shows, from the fresh flowers and welcome basket to the cleanliness and décor. It was a perfect retreat to come home to after a fun filled day on St. John. The layout was great for 2 couples, although one room and bath was smaller, they were still both very nice and accommodated us well. The living space is very comfortable and the kitchen was very well equipped. The pool was perfect for relaxing around and cooling off in after a long day in the sun.
The property was in a great location overlooking the Westin resort which we utilized for a sunset cruise and aqua sports rentals. It was a very short drive into town where we took advantage of all the fine restaurants for dinner each night. We really enjoyed La Tapa, Rhumb Lines, The Lime Inn, The Ocean Grill, and Morgan's Mango for dinner. Deli Grotto and Inn at Tamarind Court were great for breakfast. The owners were great with recommendations and suggestions for both dining and sightseeing. Curtis also charters a boat for day trips and the day we spent on his boat was definitely one of the highlights of our week where we went snorkeling in the BVI's, visited Jost Van Dyke for a painkiller and stopped at Sandy Spit for some swimming. Other highlights included snorkeling at Leinster Bay where we saw an octopus, the beautiful, serene Francis Bay, the well preserved Annaberg Ruins, and the interesting Salt Pond.
We would be thrilled to return for another visit to St. John and we would certainly stay again at Bombalassy. We have already recommended it to friends. It was our first experience with a villa rental and it exceeded all of our expectations.
