The Perfect 60th Birthday Party

5 of 5
We spent one week (1/17/15 to 1/24/15) at the Villa to celebrate my father's 60th birthday. We rented the Main house as well as one bedroom from the Guest House to accommodate 8 adults. The moment we walked into the Villa to meet Adele, I knew the week would be perfect. Adele was so sweet to hang a "Happy Birthday" banner across the huge glass doors. All of our guests were delighted with the small details. Adele offered several suggestions for local food, activities and sights to see. She made herself available via phone or email, which was comforting during our first stay on St. Croix. We visited several beaches, took a full day sail/snorkel with Big Beards in Christensted, visited Cruzan Rum Distillery, Jeep tours, and multiple visits to Christensted and Fredreksted for shopping. I would definitely recommend the Chicken Shack. Cold drinks, delicious food, great patrons and friendly staff. It was on the way in and out, so convenient for lunch and dinner. We also dined a couple of times at The Mermaid at the Buccaneer. Pretty setting on a covered patio overlooking the beach. One regret: not having Julianna come to the Villa to cook up one of her famous meals. I heard from several folks that her meals are unforgettable. The Villa itself is in a perfect location. It was easy driving around any point of the island (everything within 25 minutes or so). We ended up spending more time at the Villa during late afternoon/evening than originally thought because of the amazing pool, outdoor dining area, and proximity to the beach. The beach was within steps from the main house. There was a lot of seaweed washed ashore, which I know is unusual for the area (but we are on the shore of the open sea, it will happen!). The grounds keeper, Austin, was more than helpful clearing out the area to make sure we had a comfortable spot to park our beach chairs. Overall, the house was clean, modern, comfortable, safe, and spacious. There was ample room for 8 adults to cook and eat, as well as relax, or enjoy alone time. The beach was great for snorkeling or just lounging. We did spend most of our time outside next to the pool. We played cards, gazed at the stars, and took late-night swims. This was the perfect getaway to celebrate my father's birthday. The memories will be cherished as we pass on our experiences. I plan to visit in the future with my three children and in-laws. I want to share this treasure we found on St. Croix!

The perfect villa for an island vacation

5 of 5
We have visited St. Croix every year for 17 years but always with our chuildren and always staying in a hotel. When we decided that 2015 would be the year we spent the winter on the island, we wanted to find a few spots to try out for future visits. We chose Sea View as we love the East End location and we wanted a Buck Island view. When we arrived at the villa two weeks ago, we knew we had made the right choice and frankly wish we were staying longer than two weeks. The view of Buck Island is surreal it is so beautiful. We only wish we had brought our binoculars so that we could watch more of the boats coming and going. The photos of the villa are spot on and accurately depict the rooms, amenities, etc. the decor is "sophisticated island" without the usual glaring tropical colors. All of the furniture is high quality and I especially appreciate the lovely, clean dressers in the master bedroom. The linens are very nice and the towels (there are tons of them) must be brand new as they are plush and large. The vanity in the master bedroom is relatively new and is of high quality with lots of drawe and counter space. And everything is so clean and fresh that you don't mind storing your items there. All of the Villa Madeleine kitchens are small but Sea Views is very updated as the pictures show. It works fine for the two of us and is very well equipped. The Villa Madeleine complex employs quite a few maintenance staff and there is a good sense of security. We like to walk in the afternoons and have found the area around the villa to provide a good variety of strenuous walking to do. We even hiked to the top of Goat Hill near pt. Udall (very strenuous at spots) and would highly recommend this hike for a fabulous 360 view of the island. The outdoor area of the condo is not huge but was perfect for our needs. We loved lounging in the pool using the floats provided. Before arriving, we did not realize how important the advertised heated pool would be but we met other renters who couldn't us their pools because they were too chilly. Ours was delightful. The grill is of high quality and we used it quite a few times. Here are few cons to Sea View. The biggest one is that our cell phones wouldn't work in the condo or the adjacent parking lot. We drove down to the Duggans Reef parking lot when we needed to use our phones. Wifi was excellent which was great. And the only other con for us was the lack of curtains in the master.

Beautiful home with fabulous views.

5 of 5
We truly had the best vacation in this beautiful home in beautiful St. Croix. The owner met us at the airport and led the way to the house. After arriving she showed us around and gave us tips on things to do and places to visit. We were pleasantly surprised that the house was much larger than the pictures portray. Everything was very clean, the kitchen was stocked with all the cooking utensils needed and the outdoor grill became our favorite means of cooking. We spent the majority of our time by the pool, soaking up the sunshine and relaxing with delicious Cruzan rum. The property is a vacation all on its own. We actually spent 3 days at home and never left....it was wonderful. When we did go out we enjoyed cruising around, stopped in Christiansted and Frederiksted to see the sites and drove through the rain forest. The people of St. Croix are most friendly and helpful, we were always very comfortable and never felt out of place. This home has absolutely everything you need to have a relaxing luxurious vacation. High end property, very clean and the location is perfect. I would highly recommend this property.....it's a beautiful home.
