We arrived on 12/22/14 and drove directly to the cottage from the airport. The drive was approximately 20 minutes. Just remember they drive on the left in St Croix. We stayed for 9 wonderful nights and 10 beautiful days.
The cottage was immaculate and contained everything you could possibly need. The full kitchen had plenty of pots, pans, utensils, dishes, and glasses. We used the stove top, oven, microwave, and toaster for at least one meal each day of our stay. For us the Plaza Extra super market near the airport had the best prices and selections. Cost U Less was a close second.
There are plenty of towels and wash clothes for the bath and even beach towels if you need them. Snorkel gear, beach chairs: many all inclusive resorts do not provide the amenities that are provided by Chad and Emily. Perfect hosts by the way. They have a beautiful, special piece of property on St. Croix and we feel very fortunate to have had them share it with us. As dazzling as the pictures of the cottage are, it is even more spectacular when you are there in person.
The cottage is centrally located on the island which is a big plus. We would head out each day after enjoying our morning coffee and breakfast while the sun rose over the hills just to the east. Each morning was so peaceful and perfect.
Everywhere that we visited on the island was worth the time spent, but the following were special. Buck Island, you just have to see it. I don't have the words. We used Big Beard's for our trip to Buck Island and enjoyed every minute. The towns of Christiansted and Frederiksted. The Catholic, Episcopal, and Lutheran churches in Christiansted. The Carambola resort in the west end, Tamarind Reef Resort, Shoy's Beach,The Buccaneer Resort, all of the east end of the island, and the Rain Forest are some examples of the places we enjoyed very much.
We ate very well during our stay. The sandwiches freshly prepared at the Quality Grocery near the cottage, were large and as tasty as any I have ever had. Paris preferred them to the ones at Turtle's Deli. Both locations are a must stop in my opinion. In the evening we especially enjoyed our meals at the Palms Restaurant, and at Angry Nate's on the Boardwalk. The rock lobster that I had was just perfect and delicious. The Mermaid Grill at the Buccaneer was very good as was the Deep End Bar and Restaurant and Tamarind Reef. La Reine's Chicken Shack is another must stop.
