Recent Virgin Islands Reviews

Great Choice

4 of 5
If you are looking for a place other than a resort to experience the tranquility of St. Thomas and the Caribbean then you will appreciate Sapphire and this rental unit. Located on the east end of the island yet 20-30 min from Charlotte and 5 min from Red Hook (10-15 min. walk) you have access to all the amenities while experiencing the solitude of Sapphire Bay. The condo is well kept, modernized, clean and Michael was very responsive. The beach is pristine with coral, fish, turtles, rays, urchins, etc. within 10-40 yards of the beach. Wifi is intermittent so do not expect a great or consistent connection. It looks like the resort is coming back from a slight decline with renovation taking place throughout the property but we felt there was an effort to upgrade and beautify which will benefit future visitors. The dive shop, at this time, no longer rented dive gear but did offer snorkel gear, floats and kayaks. While the bar by the pool is closed and boarded up the pool itself was well maintained and provided excellent views of the harbor and St. John. As mentioned in previous reviews, Red Hook has several good restaurants and bars for fun evenings. Another fun location is Latitude 18 across the harbor from Red Hook, a local favorite and hangout. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Sapphire and will look to rent this unit from Michael again in the future.

Awesome Vacation !!!

5 of 5
My family and I recently visited the beautiful island of St. Croix in July and stayed at the Estate Coral Reef Villa. I cannot say enough about the island and our accommodations. For starters, our accommodations were superb. The villa is nestled in a very private and quiet neighborhood, surrounded by palm trees, sea grape trees and within close proximity to the beaches. The enviroment is condusive for that early morning jog along the white sandy beaches. The house is large, exquisitely decorated, with modern amenities. The swimming pool proved to be very delightful after a long day of shopping and sightseeing. The people on the island are friendly and polite. How refreshing to be greeted everywhere you go by a good morning or afternoon by total strangers. I must commend Chad on a wonderful job on helping me put this trip together. Kudos also to the island contacts Wenty and Betty, they were helpful and easily accessible. My family and I would not hesitate to stay at this villa again. As a matter of fact, I see another trip there happening very soon!! Thanks Serenity Garden Villas, Brian M New York (NY)

Off the Charts!

5 of 5
This was hands down one of the best vacation retreats I've ever taken. Off the Grid, Off the Beaten Path and Off the Charts- phenomenal! Part tree house, part sail boat/sail loft, the house is a labor of love, very thoughtful and inviting. The views were spectacular, trade winds welcoming and the night sky felt within reach with a gazillion stars. I opted not to rent a jeep and although strenuous hiking it was well worth the effort. There are a number of amazing beaches and ruins within hiking distance if you are up for what I came to call a "Bootcamp for the Soul". Off the Beaten Track (copy in the house) will be your bible, it is dog-eared for good reason. This is the best place to unplug and decompress- listen to the cacophony of nature, and reenter your sensory world. Allison went over and above to ensure that my stay was enjoyable and memorable. I would go back in a heartbeat. Can't imagine a better home-base for a revival of the spirit. This gem way up on the hillside made for a genuine eco-adventure on St. John.
