Lovely views from Mill Point

4 of 5
You can't beat the view from the pool deck at Mill Point - lovely sunsets. The six bedrooms and 6 bathrooms were perfect for our large group. The property is clean and our maintenance requests were met promptly. The beach is about 1 mile away, down the hill (or drive to Rainbow Beach and others). The town of Fredericksted is a few miles away, very sleepy except on cruise ship days. We did find a number of very good restaurants in the area. Tip for those with accessibility issues: there are stairs (in some places, lots!) between each level and each room, and the interior floors are glossy tile, so keep this in mind if you have walking or balance issues.

Stunning ocean views and big pool

4 of 5
Our family of six had a very relaxing vacation at Manfred's house. His son, Matthew picked us up from the airport and he was very patient while we were waiting at the Avis counter. They didn't have our minivan and for the first day they gave us two cars which was very inconvenient. Matt brought us to a grocery store which was very helpful. The villa is away from it all...we didn't hear any voices for a whole week long. Only wind and waves, awesome. The views were spectacular. We didn't use the beach because it seemed a little scary for our kids, but we knew beforehand that it'll be rocky and we hadn't planned on taking a bath there anyway. There are so many wonderful beaches on the island. We took the barge to St. John twice because we loved the National Park there, the trails and the more secluded beaches. Our kids did the Junior Ranger Program at the visitor center and made the oath for their badge - fun! We hiked and visited Annaberg Sugar Mill which was so interesting. At the house we really appreciated the space, the beach towels, the lounge chairs, enough pots, pans, silverware etc. We even had some liquor and we made cocktails every night. The sky was amazing - so many stars. The only thing that should be improved are the sliding doors because they cannot be used right now. The climate on the island is super, around 81°F. We didn't have to use the AC at all because the breeze was so nice. We've visited several Caribbean islands so far but this was our favorite. Beautiful beaches, great hills & views and historic sites. Thanks so much to Manfred, Matthew & Margie (thanks for the coffee from Panama) for a wonderful time!

Beautiful, Comfortable & Clean with STUNNING Views

5 of 5
The pictures don't even do this beautiful property justice. We arrived on a sunny day, as all of them were fortunately, and when we opened the door and stepped on to the deck overlooking the sea our jaws dropped! What a view! Walking through the home was almost as impressive as the decor and accommodations were were lovely; very clean and comfortable, nicely decorated and had everything we needed. We were 4 couples coming from NY and all of us agreed that not only would recommend this trip & property but we would (and most likely will) do it again. The flight from JFK to Charlotte Amalie is direct and less than 4 hours (and very inexpensive) so you can really make the most out of your trip to St. Thomas. We also rented jeeps which i feel was necessary when staying at this property as cabs are expensive and often unreliable from what we were told. The proximity to the beautiful Magen's Bay is another perk to this property. In fact it was close enough that we took a morning run down to the Bay a few times- there was certainly some waking back as it is a very hilly island! The house had a cooler which we stocked and threw in the trunk and headed for the beach which was nice because it made beach days really hassle-free and inexpensive. My favorite memories are of all of us cooking in the Cliffhanger kitchen with cocktails and music; enjoying wine on the lounge chairs and just enjoying the views; and my catnap in the hammocks on the lower deck. What more could you ask for? I also want to mention that the entire transaction and dealings with the owner Larry and his management team were both professional and easy. Everyone I dealt with from beginning to end I found to be friendly, helpful and available if you needed them but otherwise left you alone to enjoy your stay. If you are looking for a home to rent in St. Thomas LOOK NO FURTHER!!! Cliffhanger is a guaranteed home run. I think that the memory of sitting on that deck with a book or a cocktail in hand will forever be one of my "happy places" I will revisit in my mind :)
