Best vacation rental!

5 of 5
First let me say that we use VBRO alot, so we have stayed in many places. Most of them very beautiful. However with Joe and Marcia you get more than what you would expect....yes you get a beautifully appointed rental, with an amazing view, along with everything you would need to make it an amazing vacation. But you also get a couple that truly cares you have the best time, so they go well beyond what should be expected of them. I think if you read the reviews you understand they become more like friends by the end of your stay. We cant wait to save up and go back with our kids and grandkids. Also, we just love Lucy, who is sure to make a place in your heart!

Wow! Perfect Vacation Rental!

5 of 5
First of all, the property is just as advertised, everything is new and clean; and is well equipped with everything you need (high- end finishes in the kitchen and bathrooms were especially nice). Second, the owners, Joe and Marcia, live on the property and also made themselves available to answer any questions we might have, as well as provide dinner suggestions, etc. (we actually went out to dinner with them, very nice couple!) Our favorite day excursion was a trip to St. John (short ferry ride, very easy), absolutely beautiful beaches! And, our favorite restaurant, Thirteen, was a short drive from the house. You definitely need a car (and a good map - many of the roads are not marked). Finally, there are 2 rentals on the property, so you may be sharing the pool with other guests (we spent our time exploring different beaches, so we did not use the pool - which is also brand new). Overall, a great vacation. We will definitely be back!

GO TO BLUEBITCH ST JOHN NOW, THANK ME LATER

5 of 5
I was half-tempted to title this review "Whatever you do, DON'T go to Bluebitch!" in a selfish effort to keep it more to myself! My wife and I traveled to Bluebitch St. John for our honeymoon (she found it here on homeaway.com). The reviews were all very positive, the price was right, and the villa was available at the right time - the Universe was, I think, telling us to go to Bluebitch. The Universe has good taste. This review is posted in list form, in terms of what is "easy" to do and "hard" to do, at the Bluebitch Villa in particular and on St. John in general. At BB, it is EASY to feel at home. The villa is clean and bright, large and comfortable, and full of things that make it feel like a home. The kitchen has full-size appliances; the main living area has room to stretch out; the bedroom is large and has furniture and closets (so you don't live out of a suitcase). HARD to remember that it's not actually your house. While Ann and Albion live upstairs, it's not as if you are bumping into them all the time (although if you need something, it's easy to just shout!) The villa is very secluded and private, the grounds are lush and green, and the layout of the area is such that you will not see locals or guests from other lodgings. You really feel like you have your own private slice of paradise. EASY to spend the whole day at the Villa. Stock the fridge with goodies, brew some coffee or blend up some frozen drinks, and spend the day snorkeling at the private beach or reading on the balcony. HARD to keep track of the day and time. I suggest losing yourself in the rhythm of the waves. In St. John, it is EASY to get lost on your first day; the roads are somewhat haphazardly laid out, and of course it's your first day. So set aside a couple of hours and go exploring. HARD to get lost on your second day; the island isn't that big EASY to spend a fortune on food and drink; this is an island in the middle of the ocean and it's tough to get all the creature comforts there, so you pay for it HARD not to take advantage of happy hour to find ways to live on the cheap Thus I am hesitant to post this review, for fear that Bluebitch St John will be booked for years on end and I won't be able to go back! We can't thank Ann and Albion enough for their hospitality. Our honeymoon was worth every penny.
