The finest rental anywhere

5 of 5
This was possibly the nicest rental I have ever experienced. We loved the neighborhood. If you hate crowds and love a view, this villa is perfect for you. The location is super convenient for all the excursions that depart from Red Hook. Gail takes great pride in her property. It was impeccably clean and well appointed. Every detail she thought of was pleasant surprise. There was even a selection of sun hats to accompany the beach chairs and towels. The kitchen has every tool and gadget to make you feel at home. Even the knives were first rate and sharp! A nice special touch. The beds are super comfortable. The hot tub is welcoming. The view will knock your socks off. I can't wait to come back!

SunFun

We thoroughly enjoyed Villa Maitland! The house set up, landscaping and available meal prep items in the kitchen were perfect for our groups needs. It is a great location with easy walking access to 2 great beaches/bays. Close to Red Hook allowing timely access to groceries, drug store and dining out if needed. The house is wonderfully spacious allowing folks to be together or have adequate privacy. The pool and deck area lended itself well to water aerobics and late afternoon happy/cocktail hours. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this Villa and personally will look forward to a possible return trip. Michael and Susan (caretakers) are awesome! Nice to chat with, easy going and incredible helpful and kind! Thank you all very much.

Stunning ocean views and big pool

4 of 5
Our family of six had a very relaxing vacation at Manfred's house. His son, Matthew picked us up from the airport and he was very patient while we were waiting at the Avis counter. They didn't have our minivan and for the first day they gave us two cars which was very inconvenient. Matt brought us to a grocery store which was very helpful. The villa is away from it all...we didn't hear any voices for a whole week long. Only wind and waves, awesome. The views were spectacular. We didn't use the beach because it seemed a little scary for our kids, but we knew beforehand that it'll be rocky and we hadn't planned on taking a bath there anyway. There are so many wonderful beaches on the island. We took the barge to St. John twice because we loved the National Park there, the trails and the more secluded beaches. Our kids did the Junior Ranger Program at the visitor center and made the oath for their badge - fun! We hiked and visited Annaberg Sugar Mill which was so interesting. At the house we really appreciated the space, the beach towels, the lounge chairs, enough pots, pans, silverware etc. We even had some liquor and we made cocktails every night. The sky was amazing - so many stars. The only thing that should be improved are the sliding doors because they cannot be used right now. The climate on the island is super, around 81°F. We didn't have to use the AC at all because the breeze was so nice. We've visited several Caribbean islands so far but this was our favorite. Beautiful beaches, great hills & views and historic sites. Thanks so much to Manfred, Matthew & Margie (thanks for the coffee from Panama) for a wonderful time!
